Model description       : This is a description of the model's creation.

First place, the model's name is Raziel, the protagonist of the "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver" game by Crystal Dynamics Inc. (C) 1999. This is a very good game, and between all the characters animations, I decided to do this model since it would play very well in Q3A (as in fact does).

Raziel is a vampire, punished for its evolution before Kain, Kain condemned him. Raziel was thrown into a precipice and water disolved his body, losing some parts, as the jaws and part of his skin. Raziel preferred to hide his face with a piece of his cape (as you can see in the model). Since then Raziel is still alive...

Mesh:

Creation of the mesh was easy, I used some captures I did of the character, wich was created with the greatest detail to resemble as much as possible as the one from the original game. I found some dificulties with the upper part, since after modelling the mesh went broke, so I decided to use in 3DSMAX the tessellate command, increasing the number of polys (with this I got the mesh not to break up).

Textures:

For the textures I used Adobe Photoshop 5.5. The model needed no more than 2 different textures, but due to the detail in some body parts I decided to make four textures; one for the Head, another for the Upper Part, another for the Legs and another for the Arms. All textures were applied with 3DSMAX using the modifier Unwrap UVW, then the textures were created from scratch using Photoshop, except for the upper part, which is a capture of the front and rear from the character in the original game and then manipulated in Photoshop.

Animation:

Since I didn't have much time, I determined to use one of Paul Steed's animations (due to the high quality they have).

Sounds:

The sounds were captured from the game using the Sound Recorder. Other sounds are from Heretic II, these sounds recreate perfectly the original character.

Bots:

Bots were created using two bot files from Q3A. One speaks English and the other speaks Spanish.

Known Bugs              when you select a gauntlet in the controls menu and then go to attack the mesh breaks,but in the game does not pass
