Model description       : OK... this is my first Quake 3 model, been workin on it for quite a while off and on because I've been busy workin on some independant games and tryin to hold a day job...

She's a character that I actually thought of in a dream. In the dream she looked more like princess mononoke than what you see now, but I just started sketching and this is what I came out with. I used the now common method of makin the head tiny and having the copy attached to the torso for more interesting animations... if you watch closely, her hair will move with taunts, deaths, just about every torso animation...

Hard Parts: EXPORTING. for some reason pop'nfreshe's little exporter wasn't working for a while or something was up with the mesh, but I was in the middle of pounding my brains out trying to figure out how to reconvert the 100 meg .ase file, when I decided to give the md3 exporter another shot. and it worked. And I was extremely happy, just ask my neighbors =)

SHADERS. I had a helluva time tryin to get shaders on the wings, and whenever I scripted it, it dumped me out onto the desktop, so I gave up after about a half a day of tearing my hair out.



Easy parts: MODELLING. TEXTURING. ANIMATING. Oh yeah, all the stuff that really matters was a piece of cake, the modelling, the animations, the skins, alllll cake, especially compared to the nightmare I went through doin shaders and tryin to export it.


I've been using 3ds MAx for about a year, I'm 19, sooooooo I hope I've done well enough, I have to say I'm pretty proud of what I accomplished with this model, as I did all of the skinning and animation from scratch... 
And remember, I am dedicated to having a career in the games industry, so if anyone who happens to read this knows someone or IS someone who needs a 3d artist, I'm your man! =)
