STORYLINE

READ THIS IF YOU'RE EVEN THINKING OF ROLEPLAYING ON THIS MAP!

The year is 2056, and George Orwell's vision has come true.

It had finally happened. An American corporation had gained so
much power, had bought so many politicians, had enslaved enough of
the Third World, that it could openly declare itself the New World
Order and federal government of the United States. An endless
campaign of propaganda and the illusion of prosperity had made the
transition easy amongst the largely fickle and complacent
population of America. Resistance was easily quelled by
overwhelming force, both military and propaganda, mostly enforced
by their elite paramilitary shock troops, the Genesis Peacekeepers,
known as "Rubbers" to most for the rubber gas masks they never
seemed to take off. Any who opposed Genesis were considered
anti-Americans and terrorists. It wasn't long before speaking out
against Genesis America was a crime punishable by death. The
Genesis Corporation's hold in America was a strong one, but there
were those who saw through the lies, scapegoats, and patriotic
propaganda.

Anti-Genesis sentiments were growing, mostly because of movements
led by two men, Luc Meyers and Derek Spencer. Two years ago, they
had attempted to stop the execution of Rolan Spellman, a popular
freedom-author of various anti-Genesis essays and pamphlets, but
had failed. They hadn't had any real plan or even the slightest
idea how they could stop it, but they had tried and it earned each
of them both the title of hero amongst the rebel world, and
villain amongst the Genesis followers. They weren't looking for
fame or power, but they got both. The Freedom Movement needed
leaders, and they were the most respected of the rebellion.

The majority of the population in America blindly followed
everything Genesis said. They had been re-educating the population
ever since they achived control, and everything since the freedom
movements of the 60's up until September 11th, 2001 was obscured,
edited, or just plain deleted from history. America was presented
to the Americans as a simple, innocent country under attack by
terrorism. The fraction of the population smart enough to see
through the Genesis bullshit now followed the Rebellion, even if
not openly. Derek and Luc were now the leaders of a large force
of Rebels who held deep respect for them both. Many of their
followers had already given their lives for the cause.

USING THE MAP
=============

POLICE STATION
The police station has many usable parts. The interrogation room
can only be opened to the prisoner by a button in the
interrogator's side of the one-way mirror. The elevator usually
works fine, but sometimes if two people try to use it at the same
time, the doors can get out of synch, so there are buttons on the
top and bottom floors to open the doors on that level to get them
back in synch if that should happen. The jail cell is used by
opening one door at a time and closing it before opening the second
door for the prisoner. This is to make sure that no prisoners get
out while you're letting a new prisoner in or taking one out.
There is also an Illegal Contraband Incinerator, also, which is
easy to use. Simply command the prisoner to drop all weapons onto
the conveyor and press the button. The weapons will be destroyed
forever! There is also an armory with different guns to arm the
Genesis Police and Peacekeepers.

MASON'S BAR
Some cool stuff in here, but nothing amazing. The door always
opens outward so that it can't be blocked accientally or on purpose
with the pushable chairs, sealing it off forever. There is a
simple dartboard that you can throw "darts" (throwing knives) at.
And, like any good bar, there is a beer tap that moves and makes
a pouring sound! OH THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL!

KWIK-E-MART
Pretty simple. No usables.

SLEEP EAZY MOTEL
Also simple. Just a two-room, dingy motel with a check-in counter
for the motel owner to sit in. And I know a bunch of people are
going to be saying, "OMG RIPOFF! HE STOLE TEH IDEA FOR TEH SIGN
WITH LETTERS MISSING FROM 5AM'S 'HOTEL HELL'!" I did NOT steal
that idea from 5am! I stole it from the SIMPSONS! Get it right!

GENESIS WORKSTATION
The big, unenterable, sinister-looking, dark glass building across
from Mason's. It's only there to vandalize, so go nuts! You can
smash the windows and, if you do enough damage, set it on fire
(though the fire effect isn't too convincing.) And if you destroy
the right window, something very "entertaining" happens.

UNDERGROUND PUNK CLUB
This is the general hangout of the Freedom Movement rebels. It's
whereabouts are unknown to Genesis, since anti-establishment music
and anything else that opposes Genesis is outlawed. The only
usable objects in the punk club are the mics. They change the
current song playing to a different one.

PARKING GARAGE
Not much except for the two Genesis Corporate cars. If you shoot
them in their most flammable area, they will burst into flames like
any good action movie vehicle. They burn for 5 minutes before
burning out. The garage also has a sewer access that leads to the
park.

THE PARK
The park has some features like a Genesis Humvee with a machine gun
mounted on top, useful for roleplaying Genesis massacres of
peaceful protesters. The huge Genesis Logo on the fountain can be
pushed down and broken, which should piss off the Genesis Police
pretty good :). Every three minutes, a high-level Genesis
executive will drive by in his expensive sports car and litter into
the park. There is a way to play eco-terrorist and take his
polluting ass out.

I know that I'm gonna get shit for "ripping off all the other maps
who also have jails, gun shops, bars or convenience stores." But
to tell the truth, I had all the ideas for those things long before
playing any maps like nocredit or devil or streetwarsb2. After my
plans were laid out for the map, I played those maps and knew that
I was going to have problems from people who don't understand that
it's possible for more than one person to have the same good idea.

That being said, I want the AHL roleplay scene to grow and flourish
so I don't really care if people borrow ideas from my
map for their own AHL roleplay maps, just don't blatantly rip me
off, like making something EXACTLY like I made it or just
decompiling my map and copy/pasting whatever you want.

This map is free, so if you charge money for it, be sure to send it
to me so that I can put it where all money rightfully belongs, in
MY pocket. Drugs, whores, and DVD's are expensive, dammit.
