1. The purpose of the program.

This program is a small and simple web (http) server.
Its purpose is to help you (the user) make some files (html pages,
images or anything else) available to other users which can connect to
your computer, for browsing and downloading, using a normal web browser.

2. If installation is required, how to install the program.

2.1. First installation.

The program doesn't have an installation kit. If it is the first time
you use it, then create a folder wherever you want and extract the files
from the zip archive in that folder. Then you may create a shortcut to
the executable file and put it wherever you like.

2.2. Upgrade.

If you used CosmicServer before, then the recommended way to upgrade it
is: open the folder where you installed the program, delete all the
files except Cosmic_ini.xml, then extract the zip archive in the same
folder. The program will upgrade the ini file automatically.

2.3. Uninstallation.

To uninstall the program, delete the folder where you installed it, and
delete the shorcuts that you made (if any).

3. Requirements.

This program should work on every 32-bit Windows system (that is:
Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000 and probably future versions too).
This program requires (for normal operation) the Microsoft XML parser
version 3.0. For information about how to get it, see the program's web
page (http://grozav.unibuc.ro:8000/Adi-soft/CosmicServer/).

4. The status of the program.

4.1. The compiled program.

This program is freeware. That means you can use it freely, at no cost,
for any purpose. However, I (the author) maintain the ownership and
copyright of the program.
Donations and postcards are very welcomed, but not required; if you
wish to send me something, then contact me thru e-mail first.

4.2. The source files.

The source files of this program are also available in the program's web
site; you can do anything you want with them, but if you want to
distribute the results, you must obey the restrictions specified below
in section 5.2.

5. The distribution status of the program.

5.1. The original program.

You may distribute this program freely, but only in the form of the
original zip archive which you downloaded. You may not charge any fee
for distribution.

5.2. Derived programs.

You may also distribute any modified versions of this program, or any
programs based on (parts of) this program, provided that:
- you let me know that you distribute them
- you specify who you are and how you can be contacted (both to me and
to your users)
- you specify what you used from my source files and what you modified
(both to me and to your users)
- you include a link to my program's web page in your program or in
the documentation attached to your program
- you give me free access to the modified source files (if any).
