Using Dialgo Personal Call Center
==================================

Developing a Call Center Application can in general be tough. Dialgo simplifies the telephony issues by providing a toolbox with 20 scriptable items which can be added with a real-time compiler. The various script items in general are communication with your internet-provider, email upload-download, sending and recognizing speech and regular wave sound playback and recording on phone. In addition, using Dialgo Scheduler ensures that the application runs safely on a monitored thread, so, in case of a problem, time-out's kill the application without wasting live connections. In short, Dialgo is your super safe personal interactive voice response.

To get the most out of Dialgo, you should know a little about the philosophy behind the application. Dialgo consists of various settings and a activity script (program). In simple terms, running the Call Center involves four single steps. First, start the Dialgo Scheduler and click 'Start'. Secondly, fill up Required Settings for Phone Book, Email Service Providers, Internet Service Providers and other General Modem Settings.Thirdly, Write a Script which tells Dialgo what to do, i.e. receive a call or make a call. If it receives a call you can program it further to announce a text to speech message to the caller or hear what the caller has to say and answer it back accordingly. You can even connect to the internet and send voice or text mails over a dialup connection. Note that general scripting tools like jump, delay and exit are available and add to the much required fineness to your script. See Sample Scripts.

The last step is to run Dialgo by clicking Start or by running the above mentioned Scheduler. Are you done? OK. Leave alone Dialgo Software PC-Machine preferably backed by a UPS to follow the script. All activity log of which is available on the script screen. With this log, it is possible to find out how the script is progressing. It is advised that a person monitors the activity at least every four hours, thanks to some unpredictable telephony events. This is not a much of a problem if you are using Dialgo on one of the computers in your office. You actually program a virtual receptionist for additional customer support. All this in a few hours with a good modem and Dialgo v1.2 Retail (45 MB). Finally, at the time you want to disconnect Dialgo from monitoring your telephone line, just kill the application using the 'Kill' button and quit the scheduler. Special registered version gives additional support for running your executables to query your database and a text to CCITT wave converter. All included, no extra charge for the tools.

So adding Call Center support to your Business should now be rather straightforward. If you have any suggestions or tips, feel free to send an email to tim@research-lab.com. Good luck to you and have a nice day!
