4D Cube Screen Saver version 1 for Windows98
--------------------------------------------

*FUNCTION

Displays solid, transparent, and wire-frame 4D hypercubes randomly rotating in
synchronization. By pressing F4-F9 the user can switch through 4D to 9D
hypercubes. F1 for help. Rotating wire frame 4D hypercubes are quite common and
one has been included so the user can relate it to the solid and transparent
hypercubes with which the user may be less familiar.

The vertices, lines, and polygons for the hypercubes are calculated from rules
that have been generalised to n dimensions. The method of viewing is also
generalised to any number of dimensions. Nine dimensions is the practical limit
for displaying moving hypercubes because with each dimension added, the number
of vertices, lines, and polygons doubles so the time taken for rendering
quickly escalates.

*INSTALLATION

Place the screen saver, "4D Cube.scr", in the C:\Windows directory. From the
"Start" menu, go to "Settings" then "Control Panel" and double-click "Display".
Pick the "Screen Saver" tab and in the screen saver selection pick "4D Cube".
If you change the name of the file "4D Cube.scr", it will appear with that name
in the selection instead (as long as it still has the .scr extension).

You can also run "4D Cube.scr" by just double-clicking it.

*STATUS

4D Cube Screen Saver is Freeware and freely distributable. You may not sell it,
only give it away. It is supplied 'as is' and without warranty. I do not accept
any liability whatsoever in regard to it.
