What's it all about !
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The progam shows transverse or longitudinal waves moving along
a string of beads. It illustrates how the phase difference between the
beads results in a wave crest that moves along even though none of the beads
move along. You can change the amplitude and wavelength of the wave
and there is a ruler and stopclock for you to take measurements of
wave speed. You can use the wave equation and the speed equation to do
this. Results can be printed out.

The program is useful for students - to help them understand how
travelling waves work and for teachers as a resource.

This program is one of a set of programs that use experimental techniques
illustrate difficult concepts in physics.
