Title : Under Siege
Filename : UdrSiege.BSP
Author : Manfred Huber
Email Address : mampfi@magnet.at
URL : http://members.magnet.at/mampfi/siege.htm
Description : Large sized Deathmatch level with lots of DM start
positions. Not too large though for only two
players, although you might play a little "Hide And
Seek" from time to time. But that's what the level
was originally designed for. Oh yes, you can also
play in single player mode (there's a small a "find
the two keys before you exit" quest).
Additional Credits to : my beta-testers:
                         Adriano Lorenzini <bib2002@iperbole.bologna.it>
(Thanks for the good advice and for doing a little
carving for me in BSP), Thomas Auer <tower@magnet.at>
(Some useful level design ideas. Thanks!) and
                         Robert Kleedorfer <a9201941@unet.univie.ac.at>
(Some not so useful ideas. Thanks anyway) j/k :)
Also, special thanks to Winnie Holzmann for
creating my favourite TV show "My So-Called Life" :)

Deathmatch 6+ : Although the level is large, it get's a little too

from the lack of speed in a crowded outside area...

* Installation *

Well, everyone should know this by now, but anyway. Copy "UdrSiege.BSP" into
your "QUAKE\ID1\MAPS"-directory. (If the directory "MAPS" doesn't exist,
create it). In Quake, toogle down the console and type "MAP UDRSIEGE".

* A Few Additional Words *

First and most important: If you like the level, mail me. As every level
designer I enjoy getting feedback. Also, if you want to distribute the
level on a CD, fine with me. Just do me the favour and notify me, OK?
Now a few hints for single player mode: It seems to be pretty tough if you
don't know where to go, so it would be a good idea if you already had some
DM experience and therefore knew the level layout. Also, there are two
directions to go at the start position. If you are killed within the first
minute, you obviously chose the wrong way. (Or in other words: Don't go
ouside trough the "water door", go downstairs.)
That's basically all, except that my all-time-favourite-beta-tester Adriano
Lorenzini wants you all to know that BSP rocks. Not that I can share this
opinion but yep, anyway.
And if you're looking for a cool CD to listen to during Deathmatch, I suggest
the "Helloween"-soundtrack. I also occasionally listen to track 5 of the
"Crimson Tide"-soundtrack.
That's it for now. Please don't forget to mail me - I already said that,
didn't I? :)
