Single Player : Yes, this is why this level exists.

Deathmatch : Yes, 8 starts, not really fit for Reapers though.

Demos Replaced : None

Caveat : Some large rooms will slow down gameplay, so

a high-end Pentium is recommended. Also, if

you play under Windows 95, make sure you use

at least 16 MB for Quake -- use "-winmem 16"

(or "-heapsize 16384" if you use WinQuake).

Authors' comments

I wanted to make this level visually and architecturally interesting,

and also to emphasise the adventure element (looking for switches

and hidden places and so forth); so monster placement etc. came more

or less as an afterthought. On medium difficulty the level is playable

though; on hard and nightmare less so.

Because this is my first proper level, it is certain to contain some

newbie errors. One of them is the use of small walls, another is the use

of large rooms which contain lots of brushes (such as the central hall).

I hope this doesn't interfere with your appreciation of the level as

it is. Please let me know. I would welcome your comments on this level;

anything is better than the deafening silence which greeted my Quake-C

patch.
