INFORMATION

This software is released as "Freeware".

HISTORY

I Tried few scrolling programs and always go back
to the good old scrolling box (thumb),
That give maximum control to speed and location
of the scrolling text. The only problem was that
I have to hold the left mouse button pressed all
the time, And after some time my left mouse button
pressing finger start to hurt.
I didn't find any app that can hold the left mouse
button for me while I'm scrolling, So I wrote one
and named it "ThumbTrack".

DESCRIPTION

This utility hold the scroll box (thumb) for you,
And lets you scroll without the need to hold the
left mouse button pressed.

HOW DOSE IT WORK

After Installation (see below) Run ThombTrk.exe,
Every time that you start dragging the scroll box
you can release the left mouse button and continue
your scrolling just by moving the mouse.
When you finish scrolling just click one of
the mouse buttons to free the scroll box.
Notice that while the thumb is hooked the mouse
cursor changed to thumb.cur If thumb.cur is not

FURTHER INFORMATION

I'm aware that some program use the scroll box only
to change pages (Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat...)
And some don't update the window just after you release
the scroll box (Help files ...), I don't like it, but
there nothing I can do about it. ThumbTrack work on every
scroll box on your system except (as far as I know)
Internet Explorer version 4.xx (work fine with earlier
versions and with all Netscape & Opera versions).
Mail me if you have any problems, questions, or comments.
Because of the wide variety of hardware and software combinations
available today, it is up to the user to ensure that ThumbTrack
functions well in his or her environment. The user must
assume the entire risk of using the product.
