David Aylott's Font Listing Macro (LISTFONT) for MS Word

Version 2.2

Introduction:

This MS Word macro produces a sorted list of your Fonts
(eg True Type and ATM) in a number of different formats:

1. Single Line Listing

Ariel
Times New Roman
...

2. Multiple Line Listing

<fontname>
    ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
    abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
    1234567890

3. Entire Character Set

<fontname>
     !"#$%&'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP etc.

Multiple font samples are listed on each page allowing a compact record
of all your fonts to be kept for reference.

This application has been released as Shareware - you are welcome to try
it out free of charge for a period of 30 days. If you find it useful
please pay the author as detailed below otherwise you are required to
delete it from your PC. Your support will make it possible to produce
updates and additional Windows applications.

You are encouraged to pass this application on to friends and colleagues
but please keep it in it's original format and with all files included
in the package.

Installation:

Copy the ListFont.Dot file into your Templates Directory, eg:

WINWORD\TEMPLATE for Windows 3.x,
MSOFFICE\TEMPLATES for Office 95
MICROSOFT OFFICE\TEMPLATES for Office 97

To produce a Font listing:

*  Start MS Word
* Select File / New from the menu
* Choose the ListFont template and select OK

The macro starts automatically

Notes:

The shareware evaluation version is limited to 20 fonts and produces
the results in a fixed font size. The registered version lists ALL your
fonts and allows you a choice of font sizes.

Following a suggestion by Samuel Gage:

You are able to select the number of columns from the opening dialog box.
This is particularly useful for single line listings in smaller font
sizes as a very compact listing can be obtained. If you wish to vary the
number of columns after producing the listing, select Format / Columns
from the Word menu. An option there enables you to have a vertical line
between the columns.

And from another suggestion by Samuel Gage:

As from version 2.2 you are able to add a summary line to the top of the
listing. This summary line shows the version of Listfont, the number of
fonts and the date (displayed in the default format for your system).
This summary line is selected by checking the box in the opening dialog.

And, thanks to feedback from Jonatan Lage Edlund, LISTFONT now works
with languages other than English.

MS Word 97 Update:

This macro has been verified to work correctly with MS Word 97. The default
installation directory is 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates'.
When the macro is first run, it is automatically converted to the new macro
format for Word 97 (VBA).

When you close the document you will receive the following message:
'Do you want to save the changes you made to LISTFONT?'
Select 'Yes' and you will be given the option of Overwriting the original
template or creating a New File. If you wish to use this macro with previous
copies of MS Word, you should save it to a new file (eg ListFont97) otherwise
you can overwrite the original LISTFONT template.
