This application has been released as Shareware - you are welcome to try
it out free of charge for a period of 30 days. If you find it useful
please pay the author as detailed below otherwise you are required to
delete it from your PC. Your support will make it possible to produce
updates and additional Windows applications.

You are encouraged to pass this application on to friends and colleagues
but please keep it in it's original format and with all files included
in the package.

Installation:

Copy the ListFont.Dot file into your Word Templates Directory, eg:

WINWORD\TEMPLATE for Windows 3.x,
MSOFFICE\TEMPLATES for Office 95
MICROSOFT OFFICE\TEMPLATES for Office 97

Choose Tools / Options / File Locations and look under 'User Templates'
to see where your templates are located.

To produce a Font listing:

*  Start MS Word
* Select File / New from the menu
* Choose the ListFont template and select OK

The macro starts automatically

NOTES:

* The shareware evaluation version is limited to 20 random fonts.
The registered version lists ALL your fonts.

* The default page size in LISTFONT.DOT is Letter Size, 8" x 11" and the
page margins are set to 1.8cm each. To change these settings, produce
your font listing as normal (see above) then change the page size and
margins to suit (File / Page Setup) and press the Default button. You
will be asked to confirm the changes for all new documents based on
the LISTFONT template. Select Yes to this and your new settings will
be saved permanently. When you close Word you may be prompted to save
LISTFONT.DOT - select yes to this prompt.

MS Word 97 Update:

This macro has been verified to work correctly with MS Word 97. The default
installation directory is 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates'.
When the macro is first run, it is automatically converted to the new macro
format for Word 97 (VBA).

When you close the document you will receive the following message:
'Do you want to save the changes you made to LISTFONT?'
Select 'Yes' and you will be given the option of Overwriting the original
template or creating a New File. If you wish to use this macro with previous
copies of MS Word, you should save it to a new file (eg ListFont97) otherwise
you can overwrite the original LISTFONT template.

History:

Following a suggestion by Samuel Gage:

You are able to select the number of columns from the opening dialog box.
This is particularly useful for single line listings in smaller font
sizes as a very compact listing can be obtained. If you wish to vary the
number of columns after producing the listing, select Format / Columns
from the Word menu. An option there enables you to have a vertical line
between the columns.

And from another suggestion by Samuel Gage:

As from version 2.2 you are able to add a summary line to the top of the
listing. This summary line shows the version of Listfont, the number of
fonts and the date (displayed in the default format for your system).
This summary line is selected by checking the box in the opening dialog.

From version 3.0 the following improvements have been made:

Sorting the fonts alphabetically has been improved enormously - on a system
with 400 fonts, the time has been reduced from 30 seconds to just 1 second.

An option has been added to the main dialog to suppress the screen display.
You will not see the display build up in Word if you check this box but WILL
see a counter on the status bar showing the progress. This speeds up the
process by more than 300%.

You can save your favourite settings (eg font size, no of columns) between
sessions by checking the 'Save Settings' box on the opening dialog box.

You can change the 3 lines of default text by choosing 'Customise' from the
main dialog. Any empty lines will be suppressed in the output. These
settings are saved even if you choose not to 'Save Settings' at the opening
dialog.

Thanks to feedback from Jonatan Lage Edlund, LISTFONT now works with
languages other than English.

Version 3.1 removed the font size restriction from the evaluation version.

Version 3.2 (June 1999) made the registration process easier
