Program description:

Insult Writer 2000 will generate a text file that contains one
long sentence with multiple simple insults. Its primary purpose
is to generate the text necessary to put a discussion board flamer
in his or her place.

Disclaimer:

Although this program does not have any "real nasty" words built
into it, the insults it generates will often be extremely vulgar
because of the nature of the program.

Distribution:

This program is freeware and can be distributed freely, without
consent of the author.

Platform:

Windows 95/98, NT 4.0, NT 3.51 (SP5).

Requirements:

Requires Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 Runtimes available
from most large archives on the internet.

Installation:

I suggest you run this program directly from WinZip. If you
find that you use this program a lot, here is how you can
install it on your system:

Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0:

1) Unzip the file to your hard drive.
2) Right click the Start button and select Open.
3) Right click My Computer. Locate the file using Windows Explorer.
4) Drag the file to the window you invoked in step 2.
5) This should create a shortcut to the file in your start menu.
6) Close the Window you invoked in step 2.

Run the file by using the Start menu and clicking on the
shortcut.

Windows NT 3.51:

1) Unzip the file to your hard drive.
2) Use file manager to drag the program to an existing program group.

Run the file by opening the program group and double clicking the
new icon.

Usage:

The program does not have a help file, so this file is to be used to
describe some of the less obvious features of the program.

Editing the Noun and Verb list:

You can remove any Noun or Verb simply by double clicking the
entry you wish to remove in either list. You can add a Noun or Verb
by entering it into the text box at the bottom of the appropriate
list and then clicking the "<==Add to list" button. You can save
both of the current Verb and Noun lists by clicking the "Save"
button (this creates a file "lists.txt". Use "Load" to bring the
edited lists back in. By adding more "colorful" words to the lists,
you can generate some really nasty insults!

Setting the number of insults:

Above the sorted Verb listbox, there is a small text box that has
"2000" in it. This is the default number of insults that will be
generated when you click "Create Insult List". You may enter any
number from 1 to 9999 in this box. Any value smaller than 1 or
larger then 10000 will default to 2000.

Setting the Starting and Ending words or phrases.:

The default words will form a sentence like this...

You scum eating, skunk jumping, bitch!!

But you can change the "You" and "bitch!!" parts by altering the
the text in the "Start"" and "End:" fields before clicking the
"Create File (Random)" button.

Deleting insults from the list:

Before clicking "Create File (Random)", you can delete any insult
in the Random list by double clicking the insult in the "Random:"
listbox. The "Sorted:" list box allows you to see if any duplicate
insults exist, plus you can click on an insult to locate it in the
"Random:" listbox. You can delete all insults by clicking the "Clear"
button.

Creating the text file:

Click the "Create File (Random)" button to generate the text file
"insults.txt". Notepad will automatically open up with the text
file to allow you to copy the text to the clipboard, so you can
paste it to your discussion forum's message box. You may need to
check (E)dit * (W)ord Wrap to see the whole text in the Notepad
window.

When you ask for too many insults:

If all entries in the Noun and Verb lists are unique, each insult
is unique as well. If you have asked the program to generate more
insults than is possible with the Noun and Verb groups, it will stop
when the program cannot generate a unique insult after trying for
more than five seconds. The "Number of" insult box will then
contain the number of insults it was able to generate. If you
wish to generate more insults than what is built into the program,
just add more Nouns and Verbs (see above).

Any questions?
