			CNVTXTWP Version 1.1

Files in CNVTXT.ZIP:

README.TXT This file.
CNVTXTWP.DOC User's Guide in WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS format.
CNVTXTWP.EXE DOS executable program.
CNVTXTWP.TXT CNVTXTWP.DOC saved from within WordPerfect
			as DOS text.

CNVTXTWP.EXE converts an ASCII text file into a WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS
document. Files CNVTXTWP.DOC/TXT (which are identical in terms of
information) give details on command line execution and option settings.

To install this program:

CNVTXTWP.EXE is all you need for a conversion.

If, like this writer, you have a subdirectory such as C:\BAT or C:\BIN
which is on the PATH, then that is the place for this program. Because
you've downloaded the ZIP file, you don't really need a tutorial, but
for the record:

> CD <target_directory>
> COPY <source_directory\CNVTXTWP.EXE .

It is not recommended that you put the program into C:\WP51, if only
because this writer prefers not to put other files directly into
a product subdirectory.

Better to have it in neutral territory.

Executing the program without any arguments gives you a help message.
See a documentation file (either in WordPerfect or text format) for
descriptions of run-time error messages.

This is freeware. Please see the user documentation for copyright and
terms of use.

New in CNVTXTWP Version 1.1
===========================

. In Version 1.0, the program recognized, but did not properly
handle, end-of-line space followed by CR/LF. This has been
	  corrected.

. There is now an option to remove trailing spaces (at end of line
just before a CR/LF. (If activated, there is then a first-pass
	  write to temporary file CN{TX}WP.TMP.)

. There is, if the need arises, a Post Conversion Advisory display
which calls matters such as trailing spaces, standalone CR or LF,
and absence of ^Z to the user's attention.

. If a fatal run-time error occurs, the intended output file
	  (WordPerfect document) is deleted.

. There has been some rewording of the screen display options.

. The user's guide has been rewritten to reflect enhancements
	  and otherwise much tightened up.

This writer is available via CompuServe to receive bug reports and
suggestions for improvement or enhancements. There is no assurance
that enhancements can be incorporated. However, every effort will be
made to correct bugs, i.e., those features which do not work as
described in the documentation.

Feedback as to usability (or lack thereof) would be very much
appreciated.
