What is ClipClear?
==================

ClipClear is tiny free utility that allows you to clear the contents of the Windows clipboard with a click of the mouse. ClipClear places a little clipboard icon into tray area. If there is something in the clipboard, you'll see red cross over the icon. That means that by clicking on this icon now you can clear the contents of the clipboard.
Right-clicking on icon brings up little popup menu with some commands for launcing Windows Clipboard Viewer etc.
If you manage to copy large images and data over the clipboard now and again then you may find this utility useful.

Installation
============

Unzip files into directory of your choice and make shortcut to the ClipClr.exe into your StartUp group, so ClipClear will automatically start each time you start system. To remove it from your system, you just need to delete the files - there is no settings in registry or in another folders.

If you want to use the Clipboard Viewer command and this gives you an error saying the file cannot be found, then you need to install Windows Clipboard Viewer applet. On Windows 98 you can do it the following way:
1) Open Control Panel
2) Launch the Add/Remove Programs applet
3) Change to the Windows Setup sheet
4) Select the System Tools gategory and press the Details button
4) Mark the Clipboard Viewer entry
5) Press OK until the applet closes. You may need your Windows installation disk.

History
=======

3.1.1 (February 6, 1999)
* Fixed minor problem when the Windows Taskbar was moved to screen top position, then popupmenu was displayed on wrong position.

3.1.0 (October 9, 1998)
+ Now displays icon in the tray always, but if there is something in the clipboard, the icon looks different. That's probably better than in previous versions, where icon was hidden if there was no data in clipboard and thus whole tray was repainted if something was placed into the clipboard and icon was made visible.

3.0.0 (July 01, 1998)
+ Now pops up ONLY if something is in clipboard. So you'll see the icon in tray area only if there is data in clipboard.
* Now launches Clipboard Viewer on WindowsNT 4 too.

2.0.0 (December 19, 1997)
+ Complete remake: command-line utility changed to tray icon. Now you don't need any other tray tools to put ClipClear icon to tray area, since it automatically installs itself into tray when you launch it.
+ Added command to launch Windows' Clipboard Viewer (right-click)

1.0.0 (July 3, 1997)
+ initial release
