RSHUT Pro (INTERNET) v2.8

RSHUT Pro is an excellent solution for computers power management.
------------------------------------------------------------------

RSHUT Pro is an advanced power management solution that allows you to automatically shut down/reboot networked computers remotely or locally. Oftentimes, system administrators need to reload every computer in the network but walking to each PC is time consuming and impractical. In other cases, computers need to be turned off at a certain time, when the employees have already left. That is why software applications of this nature became very popular and essential.

This application has extra advantages over similar software. First, RSHUT Pro can be utilized on local computers, in local networks or even over the Internet with any Windows version. On execution you are given an option to display warning message on destination computer(s) with an option to execute immediately or cancel the shutdown (from local or remote computer). Next, in addition to shutting down/rebooting, this application can eject/close CD-ROMs, execute commands, suspend/hibernate PCs, end sessions, start or stop screen savers. All the actions can be scheduled or executed manually. Finally, you get full command line support for the application, Wake-On-LAN support and built-in action scheduler. Now you can understand why RSHUT Pro is so highly regarded.

Different users have various needs, RSHUT Pro comes in four different versions - Personal, Business, Network, and Corporate. RSHUT Pro Personal is ideal for use at a single computer or home, where there is no need for network support. RSHUT Pro Business is also for use at single computer and has a powerful built-in scheduler - a handy tool that small business owners will surely appreciate. RSHUT Pro Network requires server and client parts of the software to be installed; it lets you schedule up to four different tasks for every day of the week.
RSHUT Pro Corporate is the most comprehensive network extended power management solution; it lets you divide your computers into different groups and schedule an unlimited number of tasks for different groups. It is fully customizable and very flexible. Network and Corporate versions can also be used with a password to be prevented from non-authorized access.

RSHUT Pro is distributed over the Internet as shareware. This means that the trial version of the Program is free to download and try. Retail price of personal license is only $14.95 per copy.
Please refer to the price table at http://www.rtsecurity.com/purchase/rshut/index.shtml to calculate the total cost of network and corporate licenses.

INSTALLATION NOTES
------------------

Extract the files to a temporary directory (if you have downloaded it as ZIP-dile), run setup.exe and follow the instructions displayed.

REMOTE DEPLOYMENT
-----------------

Since version 2.7 you have ability to remotely install RSHUT PRO onto computers in network. It allows you quickly deploy RSHUT PRO in your network without necessity to walk the network installing each computer manually. You can read more about it at the help file available at "help\remote.html".

If you have licensed RSHUT PRO the license can be automatically copied and applied with each computer. For this unzip RSHUT PRO distribution package to a temporary folder and copy appropriate license to the installation folder's subfolder "License" (if you have downloaded RSHUT PRO as EXE-file - copy the license(s) in the same folder where from you run this installation file) and RSHUT PRO will automatically copy necessary license (depend on installation type: when you install clients - it copies only client's license, when installing servers - it copies server's license).

WHAT'S NEW:
-----------

Version 2.8:

New security updates in the program has been made. Since this version you can specify what actions are allowed to be executed on remote computers and what are disallowed.

Another enchancement has been introduced in communication between server and client - now client provides to server a special randomly generated 64-bit value and this value is changes after each successful action (begin or cancel) execution. Both server and client 'sign' this value using installed password. Server uses resulted value when sending a command to client to confirm it has rights to execute the command, client checks it is correctly 'signed' and if all ok - executes the action.
