Type ATEST at the prompt to convert ANSI BBS ads to plain ASCII
files while you watch.

This simple demo converts the *.ANS files in this directory to *.ASC
files (you can add more ANSI files if you want). As each file is
processed, it is typed to the screen and the demo pauses for a
keystroke. When the demo is done, the converted files are left in
the directory for your inspection.

In addition to the main executable, ANSIEX (ANSI EXtractor), this
demo also uses another of Horst Schaeffer's utilities, NSET, to aid
in creating the new file name for the converted ANSI.

ANSIEX was written to replace it's predecessor, ANSTRIP, which was
intended to process simple graphics where the ANSI sequences just
control the screen colors, such as the FILE_ID.DIZ file descriptions
found in many zipped archives. ANSIEX has been improved to evaluate
all cursor movements and, unlike it's predecessor, can produce a
true (well... ASCII) reproduction of both complex graphics and
animation sequences (the final screen, anyway).
