Description
-----------

ASCC is an easy to use authoring tool for application programmers,
database designers and database administrators who need to keep
track of and reuse SQL source code fragments.
Queries and scripts of your past and current projects can be stored,
annotated, organized and easily retrieved. All these objects are
displayed in an explorer-like hierarchical tree format and are
represented by icons. Using this hierarchical tree structure you
can organize your code fragments in a way that makes sense to you.
The ASCC incorporates a powerful editor that enables you to write
your SQL scripts efficiently. It includes SQL syntax highlighting,
SQL code templates, power search engine and convenient bookmarks.
A set of advanced Cut, Copy, Paste commands will help programmers
with tedious repetitive chores like retyping text strings several
times or moving text to and from the Windows clipboard.
ASCC's KnowledgeBase facility puts your most commonly used queries
at your fingertips. The Explorer-like window contains hierarchical
lists of queries that you can paste into your script. A rich library
of powerful system-level queries has been included, free of charge,
for Oracle RDBMS. This library alone will save you hours of time and
effort and is worth the price of the product.
ASCC accelerates database management and development, automates
routine tasks and stops worrying about SQL syntax.
If you perform even a small amount of SQL programming, ASCC is
a valuable addition to your toolset.

Installation
------------

Important! If you've got ASCC not from our web page, but from
the other source (magazine CD or some software library), please
visit our home page - you'll probably find the later version.

We recommend you to uninstall the previous version of ASCC (if
you have one) from your computer before installing this one. You
can do this via "Add/Remove Programs" Control Panel applet. If
you'll get the notification that the ASCC\Data folder is not empty,
be careful when removing it: it may contain the ASCC projects (the
files and directories created by ASCC) you may wish to keep.

To install ASCC, just run the "ASCCset.exe" and follow the
instructions. The only thing you'll need to select is the
target directory.
