 Introduction
--------------

Windows allows you to put any bitmap as the desktop wallpaper, which is
shown in the portions where there are no windows. You can set the bitmap to
be displayed by going to the Display applet in Control Panel. However,
having the same graphic as wallpaper all the time is boring. It would be
better if there were a way to change it every time Windows starts up, and
that is where WallPaper Changer comes in. You provide a list with the
bitmaps you want to be randomly selected and each time Windows boots you
get a graphic selected from the list.

 Files in this Distribution
----------------------------

WPChange.exe - WallPaper Changer program file.
WPChange.txt - This text file you are reading.
WPChange.ini - The configuration file that provides the bitmap list.

Setup.exe - Program that installs WallPaper Changer.
Setup.inf - Information file required by Setup.
WPChange.inf - Information file required by Setup.

File_Id.diz - Description for Bulletin Board Systems.

 Installing WallPaper Changer
------------------------------

Installing WallPaper Changer is very easy, just unzip the ZIP archive into
a temporal folder on your machine and run the included SETUP.EXE program.
That will copy the required files to a directory in your hard disk and set
a link for WallPaper Changer on your StartUp folder, as well as other links
to configure it and view this file.

 Using WallPaper Changer
-------------------------

Most of the time you do not need to use WallPaper Changer directly.
When you install WallPaper Changer, a link is created in the StartUp group
so that it is run every time Windows starts up.

 Configuring WallPaper Changer
-------------------------------

Configuring WallPaper Changer is pretty easy. Just open the WPChange.ini
file which is located in the same folder than WPChange.exe (usually
C:\Program Files\Ramos\WPChange\) and changing options in that file. For
your convenience, when WallPaper Changer is installed, a link for modifying
this file is created under the Start menu.

The syntax of the file is as follows (lines starting with a semicolon are
comments):

    [General]
; Number of bitmaps in the list under the [Bitmaps] section.
    Bitmaps={number of bitmaps}

    [Bitmaps]
; {number} - consecutive number from 1 to the number
    ; specified above
; {bitmap file} - complete path of where the bitmap resides
    ; in your computer
; {style} - how to display the bitmap:
    ; 0 = centered
    ; 1 = tiled
; 2 = stretched to occupy all the screen
    {number}={bitmap file},{style}

Because WallPaper Changer is so simple, and it didn't took much of my time,
I thought that making it shareware would be worthless. So I am releasing it
as freeware. However, if you would like to submit any suggestions, bug
reports (please!), or any other type of comment, you can send mail to the
following e-mail address:

    al720883@academ02.chi.itesm.mx

You can find information about the latest version of WallPaper Changer,
as well as other programs I have written in my personal home page:

    http://academ02.chi.itesm.mx/~al720883/

Or you can write to me by regular mail to the following address:

    Ret. Fam. Elias M. #73
    Fracc. Club Campestre
    Chihuahua, Chih. 31238
    Mexico

The next version of WallPaper Changer will be much better; it will allow
you to configure it from a dialog box, as well as change the wallpaper when
a certain amount of time passes, not just on start up.

Thanks!
