How to open the Preferences requester
-------------------------------------
There are several possibilities available to open the
Preferences requester.

- By selecting from pull-down menu (open it with F1 before)
- By selecting from Systray popmenu
- By mouse click on a button which is assigned with {/ME.PREFS}
  or {/ME.POP.ALL} or {/ME.POP.REQUEST}
- By keystroke [F4] (if RK has the focus and standard f-key
  assignment has not changed)

Language Combo box

1st Action after start
======================

Window State
------------
Useful if RK autostarts when system drives up.

Select between

- Normal (default)
- Minimized
- Systray (hidden)

Shown Profile
-------------
To selected the profile which is shown when RK starts.

Auto-Load Profile(s)
--------------------
This function is useful in a network environment.
The administrator can define profiles to load which are
placed on a server. I.E. profile one and two are loading
from a server, profile three to ten can be used and manipulate
by the user.
To load a single profile it is required to export it before.
This can be done in "Edit Profiles".
The profiles to load can be set in the path requester ("Path"-
button). The 10 lines for the 10 profiles which are possible to
set are drop sensitive. Drag a file with the Explorer and drop
it into a line.
The checkbox "Auto-Load Profile(s)" and the button "Path" can
be disabled by the administrator. To do this place a blank file
called "close.dat" in the same folder which includes the first
single profile on the server. This option dont offer a 100%
security because the user can manipulate his Profiles.dat with
an editor. But it shows him that the server profile(s) are
wanted by the company and to make changes is the job of the
administartor only.
Note. If this function is switched from 'off' to 'on' RK makes
a backup of the Profiles.dat automatically. This is very useful
because maybe existing profiles will be overwritten by the
Auto-Load function. After the next definition of a button the
overwritten profiles will be lost for ever because the server
profiles will be saved instead. So it is possible to load the
backup profile by renaming, to export profiles and to import
them if needed.

It is also possible to define a complete Profiles.dat file
which is placed on a server. Therefore move the original
Profiles.dat to another place. Generate an empty Profiles.dat
file and write the path to the new Profiles.dat into this file.
Example: i:\RK\Profiles.dat
In this case save profile module is locked.

It is also possible to start RK with a parameter to a Profiles.dat.
Example: RemoteKeys.exe i:\RK\Profiles.dat
In this case save profile module is free.

Auto-Click on Button
--------------------
RK can make an automatic click on a RK-button when it starts.
This button can be set by a click on the button named "Button".

Switch Borderless Window
------------------------
This is a start mode too. For details see "Border off.txt".

Other settings
==============

3-D look
--------
= Standard, 2-D cancelled since v8.2.

F-Keys enabled
--------------
If there are conflicts with other programs, the F-Key assignment of RK can
be generelly switched off.

Focus-Return after RK on screen
-------------------------------
Usualy in Windows, the last window which opens gets the focus (is
activated). This can be switched off for RK, to continue working
in the last application.

-> Note
This works for re-minimizing of RK and also for getting RK back
from the systray.

-> Note
After RK starts, this function can not execute, because RK does not
have information about the last activ window at this moment.

Show RK in Taskbar
------------------
This setting is switchable since v8.5. In earlier versions, the
taskbar button was permanently visible. Now the default setting is "off".

Button Flash under Mousepointer
-------------------------------
.. can be switched off here. If it is switched on the RK-button
under the mousepointer change the colors (back <-> fore) to offer
a better orientation.

View yellow Tool Tip Text
-------------------------
You know the yellow help comments, which are shown if your mouse
pointer stays on a button for a while. But this option is valid
only for the assignable buttons. Every button can get a help
line, because in some cases the button names are to short for
detail informations. For details see "Edit Keys.txt".

View Tool Tip instead Win Title
-------------------------------
This is similar to "View yellow Tool Tip" but the Tool Tip Text
will be shown in the headline of RK window. This works much
faster as the standard output.

Close Button: Hide instead Quit
-------------------------------
The use of the close button is a fast method to close a window.
But maybe not desired to close the application itself.

Quit: Do not ask "sure?"
------------------------
This message can be switched off if not wanted.

Clip History Scanning
---------------------
This function is discribed in the text file "Clip History.txt"
If this checkbox is selected RK picks up all text elements the
user puts into the clipboard (surely while RK is running).
If you recognize any conflict with other applications you can
switch off this function.

Then start a 2nd RK-instance and switch DDE connection on.
Click on the button of 1st instance which includes the DDE-script.
The script between BEGIN/END will be proceeded by 2nd instance.

Auto Switch at specified win titles
-----------------------------------
This function is discribed in the text file "Auto - Switch.txt"
and can be generally switched on/off on this place.

Auto Hide at non specified titles
---------------------------------
This function is also discribed in the text file "Auto -
Switch.txt".
It is a function of Auto-Switch. If Auto-Switch is off, this
function is not available.

Info area
---------
This will show if one of the listed functions are switched on.

Backup button
-------------
To make a backup of the Profiles.dat.
Later this bak-file can be moved from the Profiles folder to an
other place with the Explorer. Before RK can use it again, it
must be copied in the profiles folder and must be renamed to
Profiles.dat.
