The Registry is one of the most important parts of Windows 95.
If something happens to the Registry you have problems.
The Registry controls almost every aspect of Windows 95.
It tells it how its supposed to look and how to react to programs
and files plus more.

Registoy was made out of necessity, I got tired of installing programs
in Win95 and have them associate files to the newly installed program
such as jpg, gif, ect.. And when I uninstalled the program because
I didn't like it or it wasn't a good program it still had the associations
to that program.

Thats when I set down and wrote Registoy.
It backs up the registry files and allows you to restore them at will.
It also will let you restore your Win95 system to its
original condition ( your first inital boot up to Windows 95) without
reinstalling the complete Windows95 software.

Installation and Useage:

To use Registoy run the Setup program that came with Registoy.
Install the Registoy program to the Directory and Drive of your
choice create an Icon on your desktop
for Registoy or click on it from your start/programs menu.
When Registoy starts up there are three buttons System Restore,
Backup Registry and Restore Registry.
You must first click on Backup Registry then backup
this creates an exact copy of your Registry files and saves them
in your Windows Directory under the file names System.rxb and User.rxb.
Each time you click on Backup Registry it overwrites the old backups.

After Backing up the Registry if you install a program and the program
messes up your computer or associates files to that program that you
don't want associated or if you lose your networking setup or ect.
clicking on Restore Registry then Restore should fix the problem by
restoring your registry to it previous condition when the backup was made.

The System Restore Button should be used with caution this restores
your registry to its first original condition (when you first installed
Windows95) For this to work you must have a file in your root directory
called system.1st. Most computers have this file and it should be
created when you installed Windows95.
To Restore the System just click on System Restore then Restore.

If by accident you click on System Restore and restore your registry to its
original condition you can you can undo this by clicking on Restore Registry
and restoring your registry with your backup.

Registoy has saved me a lot of headaches since I first wrote it
and I'am sure sooner or later it will you too.
Registoy is a clean utility, in other words it does not add to your
Registry, ini files, or system files such as the config.sys file
or autoexec.bat. Matter of fact I left it up to the user to put
Registoy on thier desktop

Feel free to use Registoy for as long as you like it has no nag screens
nor is it crippled ware.
But if you like Registoy and would like the rest of the OfficeToy Collection
such as ClearDoc,Security and Shutdown
( Information on these can be found in the info section under OfficeToys
in the program ) or visit the OfficeToy web page at
http://www.iquest.net/~ohmslaw and if you would like to have updates
to these programs when availiable.
