PassProt v1.0 by Noodleroni Software!
--------------------------------------

PassProt is a program you can use to password-protect your computer. Unzip
this package with any unzipper (i.e. WinZip, PKZip) and place the files in
some directory. (folder) For this file, we will assume that you put PassProt
into 'C:\PASSWORD'. Substitute any mention of this folder with the name of
the folder you actually put PassProt into. For PassProt to start up with your
computer, you must put a link to it in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Read on...

Windows 95 or 98 Instructions

1. Click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Accessories', and Notepad.
2. Click 'File', 'Open...' and look in C:.
3. Type 'autoexec.bat' into the File name bar.

5. Insert 'CD C:\PASSWORD' w/o quotes as the first line.
6. Type 'PASSWORD' just under the first line.
7. Save AUTOEXEC.BAT, and exit Notepad.
8. Run SETUP.EXE in the same folder as PassProt to setup sound.

Windows 3.1 Instructions
-------------------------

2. Click 'File', 'Open...' and go to 'C:\'
3. Type 'autoexec.bat' into the File name bar.

Files included
---------------

PASSWORD.EXE Program file
SETUP.EXE Sound setup
PASSWORD.TXT This file
PW.DAT Data file
*.WAV Various sound files

The sound doesn't work!
------------------------

If when you start PassProt, it says something about no sound config set or
when you try to install it, there's no SET BLASTER line, you can try some
things. First, do you have a sound card? This program cannot work without a
sound card. If you do have a sound card, run SETUP.EXE. Tinker around with
the numbers and it should work. If you STILL don't hear sound after typing
the wrong password, plug in your speakers or turn up the volume or something.

Changing stuff
---------------

This program was designed so you could change things like the time the
blockee waits for the system to halt and the password. Open PW.DAT with
Notepad and the instructions are there.
