http://www.acd-group.com/Softwaredevelopment/POP3Plugin

   Welcome to the POP3/SMTP EmailPlugin 1.2 for Total Commander - the new way
   of managing mails with TotalCommander!

   What's new in Version 1.2?
   ==========================
    * Multi-language support (English, German, French, Russian, Italian, Greek,
      Swedish and Dutch)
    * Installer (for automatic installation)
    * Supports ISO*, WINDOWS* and KOI* charsets
    * Define a SMTP Server for each connection/mailbox
    * Input wizard which helps new inexperienced users to enter the connection
      details

   Important note: When you upgrade your Total Commander 5.50 to 5.51 do not
   wonder when you can not see "Edit settings" anymore. You can reach the
   dialog by (right-click on "POP3-SMTP Connections" folder-properties).

   1.) INSTALLATION
   ================

   For installation you can either use the Installer which is available on our
   website and installs the plugin for you or do it manually:

   We recommend to use the filesystem plugin if you use Total Commander 5.50
   or newer! The packer plugin was mainly written for users which use old
   Windows Commander versions without filesystem plugin support.

   Installation (as filesystem plugin)
   ===================================
     * Copy "POP3Plugin.dll" and "SampleMailXXX.eml" to your Total Commander
       directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\TotalCmd)
     * Copy "POP3PluginXXX.lng" in Total Commander Language directory
       (e.g. C:\Program Files\TotalCmd\Language) and rename it to
       "POP3Plugin.lng" (only neccessary if want have the plugin in your
       own language and not in English)
     * Configuration -> Options -> Operations -> FS Plugins -> Add -> Enter
       "*.dll" to see all dll files of the current directory -> Choose
       "POP3Plugin.dll" from your Total Commander directory
     * Please read upgrade instructions below if you upgraded from version 1.x!

   You will now see "POP3-SMTP Connections" in "Network Neighborhood".

   Installation (as packer plugin)
   ===============================
     * Copy "POP3Plugin.dll", "SampleMailboxXXX.pop3" and "Quick connect.pop3"
       to your Total Commander directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\TotalCmd)
     * Copy "POP3PluginXXX.lng" in Total Commander Language directory
       (e.g. C:\Program Files\TotalCmd\Language) and rename it to
       "POP3Plugin.lng" (only neccessary if want have the plugin in your
       own language and not in English)
     * Configuration -> Options -> Packer -> Configure packer extensions DLLs
       -> Enter as file extension "pop3" -> New type -> Enter "*.dll" to see
       all dll files of the current directory-> Choose "POP3Plugin.dll" from
       your Total Commander directory
     * Please read upgrade instructions below if you use TC 5.51 and
       upgraded from version 1.0!

   You can now access your mailbox by opening the "virtual" pop3 archives.
   Instead of the real file contents of the pop3 file you will see the contents
   of your mailbox. The actual pop3 file contains only the connection
   information with the following syntax (password and port are optional):
   username[:password]@mail.domain.com[:Port]

   Upgrade instructions for filesystem plugin users:
   =================================================
   If you upgraded from Version 1.1 please rename the connection header
   of your IniFile to "[POP3/SMTP EmailPlugin - POP3 Connections]"!

   For TC 5.51 users & upgraded from Version 1.0:
   * Please add the "[POP3/SMTP EmailPlugin - POP3 Connections]" header above
     the first line of your connections in your IniFile.
   * Copy the full IniFile contents (header & connections) and place it in the
     shared "fsplugins.ini" IniFile which is located in the same directory as
     your "TotalCmd.ini" file.
   * The "wcx_pop3.ini" is not used anymore and can be deleted.

   For TC 5.50 users & upgraded from Version 1.0:
   * Please add the "[POP3/SMTP EmailPlugin - POP3 Connections]" header above
     the first line of your connections in your IniFile.
   * Rename the "wcx_pop3.ini" file to "wfx_pop3.ini".

   Upgrade instructions for packer plugin users:
   =============================================
   For TC 5.51 users & upgraded from Version 1.0:
   * Copy the full IniFile contents (settings) and place it in the shared
     "pkplugins.ini" IniFile which is located in the same directory as
     your "TotalCmd.ini" file.
   * The "wcx_pop3.ini" is not used anymore and can be deleted.

   2.) FEATURE DESCRIPTIONS
   ========================

   Multi-Language support
   ======================
   If you want to have the plugin in your own language then copy your
   "POP3PluginXXX.lng" file from the zip-archive (manual installation) to the
   Language directory of Total Commander and rename it to "POP3Plugin.lng".
   Please do not forget to restart your Total Commander!
   If your language is missing and you want to make this plugin useable for
   everyone in your country by doing a translation then please send mail to:
   support@acd-group.com

   APOP Authentication
   ===================
   The plugin supports APOP authentication. We recommend to enable APOP
   otherwise your passwords will be transmitted in plain text. If you have
   enabled APOP then the plugin first tries to authenticate via APOP. If the
   server does not support APOP then it automatically retries to authenticate
   using the unsecure USER/PASS method. Note: Some servers support both but they
   allow to set different passwords for APOP and USER/PASS therefore it is
   possible that you get an invalid password error if you do not know the APOP
   password. In this case we recommend to disable APOP or ask your postmaster/
   administrator to set the APOP password!

   Password encryption
   ===================
   Password will be encrypted before they are saved in the IniFile.
   The plugin will append a "EncodedPwd(" and ")" at the beginning and the end
   of the encoded password. If you want to change your password then use the
   edit connections dialog and replace the entire "EncodedPwd(...)" string with
   your new password. Nevertheless for security reasons we recommend not to save
   passwords!

   User defined IniFile location (requires TC 5.51 or newer)
   =========================================================
   Settings are saved in the shared "fsplugin.ini" (FS version)/"pkplugin.ini"
   (PA version) IniFile which is located in the same directory as your
   "TotalCmd.ini"/"WinCmd.ini".
   Note: If you use TC 5.50 or older then the IniFile needs to be located in
   the same directory as the Totalcmd.exe/Wincmd.exe file. The filenames of the
   IniFile must to be "wfx_pop3.ini" (FS version) / "wcx_pop3.ini" (PA version)

   SMTP-Client
   ===========
   You can send mails in *.eml file format by copying/moving them to any
   directory of the plugin. The plugin automatically connects to the given
   SMTP Server and sends the mail to all receipients specified in To/Cc/Bcc.
   Packer plugin user just "pack" the selected eml files as pop3 archive.
   Instead of a real packing the plugin connects to the SMTP server and
   uploads the mails.

   Fully user configurable
   =======================
   The IniFile and the settings dialog (right-click on "POP3-SMTP Connections"
   folder-properties) allows you to adapt the plugin to your needs. The
   following options are available:

   FileExtension=.eml
   .eml=opens the mails with default mailclient (default)
   .txt=opens the mail in default text editor e.g. Notepad
   ...

   APOPAuthentication=0 or 1
   0 = APOP authentication is disabled (default)
   1 = APOP authentication is enabled

   F8DeletesConnection=0 or 1
   0 = When pressing F8 all mails of the selected mailboxes will be deleted
   1 = When pressing F8 the connection itself will be deleted (default)

   ShowAddConnectionsLnk=0 or 1
   0 = No "Add connections" shown in the root of "POP3-SMTP Connections"
   1 = "Add connections" shown in the root of "POP3-SMTP Connections"
       (default)
   This option has been added because adding of connections this way is
   obsoleted. (F7 allows you to add connections)

   ShowEditConnectionsLnk=0 or 1
   0 = No "Edit connections" shown in the root of "POP3-SMTP Connections"
   1 = "Edit connections" shown in the root of "POP3-SMTP Connections"
       (default)
   This option has been added because editing of connections/settings this way
   is obsoleted (Right-click on folder-properties allows you to edit
   connections and settings)

   SubjectLength=20-80
   The subject will be truncated after x characters (default is 40)

   AddressLength=20-40
   The from address will be truncated after x characters (default is 30)

   RetrieveLines=-1-?????
   -1 = The full mail will be downloaded when pressing F5 or F6
   0 = Only the header will be downloaded when pressing F5 or F6
   x = Only the header and the first x lines of the body will be downloaded
        when pressing F5 or F6

   SMTPServer=[username:password@]smtp.domain.com[:25]
   ... = Use the following syntax if your SMTP Server needs authentication:
   "username:password@smtp.domain.com" if not enter the server name only

   Note: If values are out of the allowed range the default values will be
   used! The F8DeletesConnection, ShowAddConnectionsLnk,
   ShowEditConnectionsLnk settings are not available in packer plugin version.

   Known bugs: If you delete a hugh amount of mails then you will probably get
   a "file error.". This happens only if you have a fast internet connection
   and a too slow remote pop3 server. (The plugin reconnects too fast and gets
   a wrong MessageCount from the Server...)

   See History.txt for all details...
