VRename allows you to rename groups of files that share the same prefix and
reside in the same file folder. You can specify the old and new prefix, not
necessariy of the same length. VRename will change the names of the files
that are selected and match the specified file name prefix. If no files are
selected, all matching files in the specified folder are renamed.

This program is particularly useful for renaming files that are grouped by
having a common base name plus a sequence number or other differentiating
  file name suffix.
