instructions. Please uninstall previous version of Folder Remarker
and reboot before installing new one.

Folder Remarker 2.0 stores comments in new format. This format
incompatible with format that were used in previous versions of
Folder Remarker (1.81 and earlier). If you want to use your old
comments in new version of Folder Remarker, you have to use
Convert.exe program. This program will convert database that contain
your comments to new format. You can download converter here:

  http://www.whiteelk.com/Convert.zip (4KB)

You can uninstall Folder Remarker via the "Add/Remove Programs"
applet in the Control Panel. If you get the notification that the
Folder Remarker folder is not empty, be careful when removing it
because it may several files -- descript.fr2, disks.dat, and
dadisks.dat -- which contain information about your comments
which you may wish to keep.

2 Minimal Requirements

  Windows 95/98/Millennium/NT4/2000

3 How to use

Click the right mouse button to activate the context menu for any
file or folder, and select the "Properties" menu item. The property
sheet now contains a new "Comments" page where you can add whatever
text you want. You can edit the description; it will be saved when
you click either the "OK" or "Apply" button. Also, you can view and
import descriptions from the file_id.diz and setup.ini files in
folders and ZIP and RAR archives.

When you hover the mouse pointer over the icon of an annotated
file, a tooltip appears with your comment (this feature works
only in Windows 98/Millennium/2000 or in Windows 95/NT4 with
Active Desktop installed). Active Desktop is shipped with Internet
  Explorer 4.

When viewing a folder as web page, you will see your comments for
a selected file in the left side of the window.

Comments are stored in a database file (descript.fr2) in Folder
Remarker's program folder. Folder Remarker monitors file operations
like moving, copying, and deleting files, and it updates the
database to keep your comments attached to the files. A tray icon
indicates that the File Operations Monitor is loaded. When this icon
is not shown in the tray area, the Monitor is not loaded, and your
comments for a file will not be copied or moved with the file and
  will be lost.
