I. General Information
======================

What is Service Manager Plugin?
  
  Service Manager Plugin for FAR is a module that treats
  Windows NT and Windows 2000 service and device lists as
  the directories of virtual file system.

  Service Manager Plugin allows you to view, start, restart,
  stop, pause, continue services, configure the startup properties
  of services, install new services and remove services from
  the computer. With Service Manager you can administer
  remote computers as well as your local computer.

  Install Service Manager and see plugin's help for further
  details.


What are the software requirements for Service Manager Plugin?

  In addition to the software provided with this package
  Service Manager Plugin requires Microsoft Windows NT or
  Windows 2000, and FAR 1.60 or higher version.

  If you do not have FAR installed on your computer yet or you 
  are using FAR version prior to 1.60, please visit FAR's 
  homepage at http://www.rarsoft.com and download the latest
  version of FAR.

  Although you can install Service Manager Plugin under
  Windows 95 and similar systemlets, it will not work there.


Who can use Service Manager Plugin?

  To administer services on a computer using Service Manager
  Plugin, you must be logged on to a user account that is
  a member of the Administrators or to any other account that
  has access rights enough for this purpose. Ordinary users can
  only use Service Manager Plugin to view service properties.


II. Installation Instructions
=============================

1) Create a new subdirectory (for instance, SvcMgr)
   in the Plugins subdirectory of the main FAR directory.

2) Copy the contents of the package to this subdirectory.
   The minimum set of files to be copied includes FarSvc.dll,
   *.lng and *.hlf according to your language settings.

3) Restart FAR. Once started, press F11 and select
   Service Manager from the list of plugins, or choose
   'services' from the Drive menu.
