***** BE very careful, don't be double clicking those batch files
until you read this, print this right away and don't loose the
print out, keep it in a safe place.
ERS is a powerful backup and restore program, don't under estimate it.

ADDED FEATURES: 1) Two step easy installation.
                   2) Added shortcuts to Startmenu, Desktop, Programs in Start\Programs menu.
                   3) Added ERSB shortcut to the Startup folder, the feature will automatically open ERSB upon Win95 startup but there
it will pause waiting to press any key to do Backup or just close
the DOS window if you don't want to do the backup, this feature will
save you investing in any scheduling programs which uses memory and cost money.

INSTALLATION:
You can install on top of ERS V 1.2. it will over write previous
Versions.

It is made easier in this version in a two step installation.
Step 1): Extract or copy all unzipped files into c:\ersall.
When you unzip, edit the destination to be c:\ersall, if you
don't know how just create new folder in C and call it ersall,
Extract and copy files to ersall.
Step 2): Double click Install.bat.

Important Notes: All files has to be copied to c:\ersall for the installation to Work.
You need to restart computer for all shortcuts to show up.
You can delete unwanted shortcuts in the Start menu, startup or Desktop.
Registered owners will receive full E-mail support, tips on how to survive a crash, future update v 1.3 and help needed in installation.

Delete shortcuts in C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup if you don't
want ERS to start upon Win95 startups.
Registered owners will receive a fix to remove the pause from the two
versions of ERSB and ERS if you want to remove the pause to schedule
ERS to run with any scheduler such as System Agent from Microsoft Plus.

DESCRIPTION:
ERS, ERSA and ERSB
All three programs backup and restore the following files:
System.dat, System.da0, User.dat, User.da0, System.ini, Win.ini,
Command.com, MSDOS.sys, IO.sys, Protocol.ini.
Each backup could take 1 to 2 mb of hard disk space, so if you use all three programs then 5 to 10mb could be used for backup. It is worth it and it is the best system backup/restore for Win95, don't go without it.
Some system files grow larger than the above size.
----
***ERS and ERSA are identical except the names, giving you the option
of having two backups.
Double click ERSback from the Startmenu\ERS, all the above Win95 System files would copy to c:\ERS.
***To restore from backup, start computer click F8 when says Starting Windows 95 and select the Command Prompt Only.
At the Command Prompt type CD ERS, once in ERS just type RESTORE, restart computer.
*** ERSA is the same except you double click ERSAback to backup
and type RESTOREA to restore from ERSA. Believe me you need more than
one backup done at different days and times.

-------------------------------------
ERSB is different, it keeps three backups of Win95 sytem files.
Considering you backup once every day, which I suggest you do.
This what it does:
Once you backup every day using ERSBback on the third day,
you will have three backups,
in ERSB will have the latest, ERSB1 will have yesterdays and ERSB2
will have the day before yesterday.

To restore as in ERS above, start computer, click F8 when says Starting Windows 95,
select the Command Prompt Only,
it depends from what day you want to do the restore,
From current date, type CD ERSB and then type RESTOREB .
From yesterday, type CD ERSB1 and type RESTORE1 .
From day before yesterday, type CD ERSB2 and type RESTORE2 .

Note: In the fourth day backup in ERSB2 will be deleted, so always
You will have, today's, yesterday's and the day before yestertday
Considering you backup every day.

___________________________________________
You can safely practice with this program, BUT DON't Double CLICK the RESTORE.BAT in Windows.
Don't forget to type this readme.txt and save it for a rainy day.
Always do backups before you install any program.
This program will for sure get you out of trouble.
--------------------------
That's how I use mine.
I have System Agent from Microsoft Plus and I have scheduled it to backup daily using the ERSB program and to backup once a week using the ERSA program, I use the ERS just before I install any program or before editing the registry or system files.
=====================
Attention:
ERS and Profiles: ERS doesn't backup user.dat and userda0 if computer is configured with different profiles for different users.

If your computer is configured with different profiles and you need ERS to backup those files send the $6 registration fee to get a customized ERS for different profiles, I need the following information in order to make a customized copy.
Look in c:\windows\profiles\ for example it would have for example
C:\windows\Profiles\John and or C:\windows\Profiles\Ann, I need the
exact name of the profile or profiles, for eg: Ann, John, Mike, Linda etc., and I will send you a customized ERS with your profile and profiles to be backed up.
