Installation:
-------------

Copy the program & DLL somewhere and run it. That's basically it. It will create
an INI file in the directory you run it in, so if you move the program you
should move or delete the INI. You will also need the Visual Basic 3.0 runtime
file, as well as some older VB custom controls. More than likely you have these
files present on your HD already, but if you get error msgs about missing files,
that's what they are. If you're in dire straits for one, E-mail me and I'll try
to send them forth. (breid@ebicom.net)

How it works

The program periodically scans your PC for hard drives or network drives
and generates a bar menu and button for each. CDROM drives and similar
read-only devices will not be listed. If a drive comes online while the
program is running it will add it, and vice versa.

You can click the button with the drive's letter on it to get a quick
synopsis of the drive space info.

Drag the bar graph blocks with the left button to reposition the bar.
It will return to this location on the next run. If something happens
and you can't get to the program again, delete the brdrive.ini file in the
directory you launched it from.

Double click a bar graph to exit the program

Why it works that way
----------------------

I wrote it this way because I needed some sort of visual indicator to show me
when the net drives and local hard drives I use are available and how much space
I've got to play with on them. I install a lot of software packages and I wrote
this so I could keep a "heads up" display of my drives to better judge a suitable
install location. I exclude CDs and read-only media like that because I didn't
want to clutter the screen with anything I couldn't write to.

I excluded drives A and B because you'll kill your machine speed polling those
things right and left. I know some people remap or SUBST floppies to higher
letters, but I don't, so I didn't bother going through all the identifying code.
That's the way it works best for me; and that's who it was written for. Hope it
works well for you.

Further credits:

Credit and thanks are due to whomever wrote the DLL included with this program. I
honestly don't remember where I got it, so kudos to whoever.

Known bugs:
-----------

Occasionally when this program has focus, a spacebar press will cause a runtime error.
No harm outside of annoyance.
