Description :
ArchivePro allows you to take files or groups of files and store them
(either deleting or retaining the originals) on an "archive device",
probably a Zip Disk or a CD Writer or reserved area of a Hard Drive or
something similar. It will compress the files and keep track of them,
and you can search for them and recall them at any time. The archive
device doesn't have to be on your PC, although it can be. It can be a
device on another PC on your local area network, or even on a system on
the other side of the world connected via a wide-area network or even
the Internet. Multiple PCs (the "clients") can all use the same archive
device, which is connected to a single PC ("the server"). Or a PC ("the
client") can use multiple different PCs ("servers") for different
purposes, archiving some data to one place, other data elsewhere.

As well as archiving files you can also archive "Disk Images". You can
take a floppy disk, even a bootable one, and archive it on an archive
server. Then at any time, from any client (security permissions that
you set allowing), you can recreate the disk. Great for DOS boot disks,
driver disks etc. There are extensions to the Windows Explorer context
menu to make archiving files an extremely simple process, simply select
the file or group of files/directories you want, right-click and select
the new Archive option. Regular archive requirements can be met by the
definition of ArchivePro "Jobs" - shortcuts that start the Archive
Process with a predetermined specification of the files to be archived.
These shortcuts can be put on the Windows desktop for instant access,
and can be scheduled by any appropriate scheduling package (System
Agent for example).

Just some of the uses of ArchivePro 2000 include:
Software developers, to maintain multiple versions of code.
Support technicians, to archive drivers, installation disks etc. etc.
Hobby users, to manage and keep track of downloaded software.
Lawyers, Accountants and similar professions, to archive work done on a
particular job or for a particular client.
Multi-staff offices, to ensure anyone can access data regarding a
particular client.
Multi-location offices to provide easy access to common data across a
distance.
And many more...
