Frisk Software International - Technical note #10

		You received F-PROT by mail...what next ?

We generally recommend that people obtain new versions of F-PROT by FTP, but
unfortunately there are many that don't have FTP access. For their benefit
we installed a mail-server - any mail sent to f-prot@complex.is will be
replied to with a UUencoded copy of the latest version of F-PROT.

As many mail systems are unable to handle half-megabyte files, this mail
is broken up into smaller chunks.

To create a working F-PROT program you have to...

   ... edit all the parts by stripping out the header, as well as any blank
       lines at the end, and then combine those parts in the correct order
       into a single file, called something like f-prot.uue.

       If your editor supports edition of 500K files, you can do this the
       other way around as well...first combine the parts, and then seek out
       and remove any extra 'garbage' between the parts. This way makes
       it easier to check that no blank lines are left.

       The resulting file should look something like this:

		begin 644 fp2xx.zip
		MIU2!O7Z7\`^YP&4%%7N$``CLBB7VQ`1T(^1@/"]T`^L;D+0/S1`\`W0)M`"P=
		M`\T0ZP-0M`"P)LTO8*5Q@0ZP&07U0````"T"==eTY;IK`<TAN`DUS2&)'D8!8
		MC`9(`;@));H#`<TANDH!S2=&:7)S="!44U(@26TTT&%L;&5D+@T*).@``%V-O
		:
		:
		MM#^Y`P-Z"@+-@KG9&7N`)"*\GWT;K^_\T0DM`0"C2P.T/[D"`+I-`Y#29&PP=
		MH4T#/;W;="ZX`$(KR2O2K7&XZ4"B2@.Y88"Z2@.0S2%R%+@"0BO)*]+-(Q7&*
		MN4(!==+H``LUR3S%JX`5?-(;0^S2%:'UFX`4/8OE!Q]=7UY:65M8G2[_+D(#9
		"OUL#[
		``
		end

   ... run the uudecode program (or xxdecode if you requested the xxencoded
       version of the program) with the name of the previous file as argument,
       for example:

		uudecode f-prot.uue

       This will generate a normal .zip file, which can be unpacked with
       PKUNZIP
