This program allows you to create a self-extracting archive from any .WV
(WavPack) compressed audio file. In this way it is possible to distribute
or store WavPack files without having to include the WVUNPACK program.

To create the self-extracting file, simply prepend this .EXE file to any
previously generated .WV file using the MS-DOS COPY command. Be sure to
use the /B switch (for binary) and give the output the .EXE extension.

 for example: COPY/B WVSELFX.EXE+SAMPLE.WV SAMPLE.EXE

The resulting .EXE file can be executed on any Windows computer and will
restore the original .WAV file into the same folder. This can be done from
the MS-DOS command prompt, or the file can simply be double-clicked from
within Windows. No other files are required on the target computer!

If the file cannot be created in the same folder because it is on a
read-only device (like a CD-R) or the file already exists, then a standard
Windows "Extract To" dialog box will appear and allow the user to specify
an alternate target location and/or filename.

The source .WV file may have been compressed in the lossless, lossy, or
raw modes by any recent version of WavPack. Raw files will restore with
their original extension. Note that the self-extracting archives will no
longer be usable by WVUNPACK or playable by the winamp plugin.

WavPack and its related utilities are free programs. Feel free to give
them to anyone who may find them useful. If you have any questions or
problems please let me know at david@wavpack.com and visit www.wavpack.com
