freeware.

HOW TO USE WaveTag:
WaveTag is an advanced and very usefull program which adds two simple bits of information to a
wave file -- a tag, if you will. These tags in no way affect the audio data, but let applications
read them at any point. There are various tag types out there...GoldWave, for example, has a
tagging process, as does Creative WaveStudio. However, they are sound studios. My program is
merely a tagger...
Although WaveTag cannot read\write tags from these programs (look for it in future versions), it
can add a string of text which can be used for many purposes:
* Catalogging
* Notes
* Secret messages to friends
* Storing important passwords
Eventually, WaveTag will have a sibling which will let you embed files inside of waves, or to
tag any file type (you can do this now by setting the filter in the Open dialog to All Files.
However, this has not been tested with many file types and some programs, such as Notepad,
may display the tag inside the document.)
Anyway, WaveTag remains easy to use despite its many uses. First, start it up. Next, enter the
filename for the wave file in the first box on the screen, or click Browse and search for the
file. Then, tab down to the next field and enter what you want to tag into the document. Then,
click the Tag button below and voila...you're done. To view a tag, enter the filename and click
the Read button at the bottom of the screen.
Other buttons: The other buttons do the following:
About: Displays an about message
Help: Brings up this text file in Notepad
Info: Displays the file size (in bytes), the tag, and the version used to tag in a dialog
Exit: Exit the program
