                             MP3 TAG makER v3.0

With this short program, you can ADD a 128 bytes TAG (ID3) to your .mp3
 file(s), or EDIT the TAG.
This TAG includes the Title of the song, Artist, Album, Comment, Year and
song type (called Genre). The TAG used by:

WINAMP
XTC-PLAYER
MP3Play95
Studio3
and many other programs.

MP3TAGER.EXE

In this program, the first parameter is the .mp3 file name.
If you want to tag more than one file, you can do it with DOS joker characters
(*,?)
Ex.: MP3TAGER *.MP3 or
       MP3TAGER A*.MP3 or
       MP3TAGER ?????1*.MP*.

If you use the "MULTIPLE FILES" mode, the program will fill in the inputlines
with red '#' signs. The red '#' sign means "NO CHANGE!". If you want
to change it, then you must delete or overwrite the '#' sign(s).
If the "GENRE"='#Do not change' and the .mp3 file has no TAG, then the GENRE
in the file's TAG contains "Other".

If you type -f to the command line and the filename has some joker characters
then the program will work in "FILE BY FILE" mode.
The default in this mode is 'sort filenames by alphabetical order'.
If you give the -n parameter, then the program doesn't make the sort.
In the "file by file" mode you can use the Shift+Enter (Save and Back) or
Shift+ESC (Don't Save and Back) key combination for reverse sequence (for the
 previous file(s)).
If you press the CTRL+ESC (or Shift+CTRL+ESC in WIN95 DOS window) key
combination, the program will exit immediately.

If you type '!time' to "COMMENT" inputline, then COMMENT will include the
 song's playtime.
WARNING: The playtime calculation is inaccurate (+- 3 sec.)

In the line of the GENRE, you can use the QUICKSEARCH feature by typing
letters. If you press the '#' key then the genre will be '#Do not change'
(Only works in MULTIPLE FILES mode).

The program can detect all types of MPEG Audio files from MPEG 1 to MPEG 2.5.
For more information, see DETECT.TXT file.

You can move the window by Shift+Cursor keys.
For Hide/Unhide the window, press the F10 key.

If you press the F2 key, then the program will save the "History" to
HISTORY.TXT file (to the directory of the EXE file).
After you save the "History", you can edit it easily.
If you press the F4 key, then the program will load the "History" from
HISTORY.TXT file (from the directory of the EXE file).
Please think about this, if you get a new version of the tagmaker
(Save the "History" from the old program, then load the saved "History" to
  the new program :)

In the program, you can use ESC or ENTER. ESC means CANCEL, ENTER means OK
 (and save).
You can change the input mode (OVERWRITE or INSERT) by the INSERT key.
Use the HOME or END key to move the cursor between the beginning or the end
 of the inputline.
Use the PageDown key to activate the "history" menu.

If you want some help for the keys, press the F1 key in the program.

If the second parameter is '-r' the program will remove the TAG from the
selected file(s).

Bonus1: MP3 Lister

With this program, you can make a list of your .mp3 files.
You can use the joker characters in the first parameter.
For more information about the other options of the program, run the
program or see the MP3LIST.INI file.

If you get a new version of this program, please run it with -def parameter to
write a new .INI file (with new options).

You can use the WIN95 long filenames, if you type the '-lfn=y' parameter to
the command line, or if you enable it in the .INI file. The long filename
detection is only works in WIN95 DOS window.

The program can search for the specified files in subdirectories, if you
type the "-sub=y" parameter to comment line, or if you set the "SUBDIR=YES"
 option in the .INI file.

If you want to work with an other .INI file, you can do it, with
 "-ini filename" or "-ini=filename" parameter.

If you want to change the output file to another drive, you must use the -p
parameter to set the drive and path (and filename).

The program can works with multiple albums and/or artists.

 too.
