DESCRIPTION

DiscMaid converts audio CDs into RealAudio, wave files and cassettes. DiscMaid is shareware. A fully functional version can be installed for twenty free uses. Version 2.9 includes one bugfix and several peripheral improvements.

REQUIREMENTS

DiscMaid requires a computer running Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98, with a Windows-compatible soundcard and CD player. DiscMaid itself installs into less than 1.5mB of drive space, but users will require a substantial amount of drive space to produce high quality wave and RealAudio files - 200mB is recommended as a minimum and more may be required if very long tracks are to be recorded and encoded.

REAL AUDIO

DiscMaid produces RealAudio files by managing your RealAudio encoder as a background process. If you do not have a RealAudio encoder, DiscMaid can not help you produce RealAudio files. To obtain a RealAudio encoder, visit Real Networks' web site at http://www.real.com and download one. RealAudio is a trademark of Real Networks, who own and license the RealAudio formats, players and encoders. DiscMaid does not provide any RealAudio distributable files or include any RealAudio code, nor does it directly interface with any RealAudio executable or DLL file except through the comand line interface as documented by Real Networks for use with RealEncoder.
