----------------------------------------------------------------
ATI PLAYER STARTER & VOLUME HOLDER ver. 2.1.0.2 (Nov 10, 1999)
----------------------------------------------------------------
For TV CENTER and/or ATI VIDEO PLAYER and (not only)
                ATI All-In-Wonder Pro card.
----------------------------------------------------------------
ATI Player Starter and Volume Holder (atiplsvh) is an utility
allowing you launch the ATI TV Center or ATI VIDEO PLAYER
(or other user-defined applications). It can hold the sound
settings of your soundcard (applies especially to SoundBlaster
PCI 64/128, LIVE, AWE 64 or compatible PCI cards like
Ensonique) even when ATI Player tries to decrease volume of
every sound source to zero. You do not have to run mixer
utility and adjust right position of their sliders. You can
also switch off this strange behavior of ATI drivers for
perpetuity (at least until the next reinstallation of ATI
drivers).
---------------------------------------------------------------
TIP: Try command-line switches and their combinations.
--- Have a look in HELP file, there is a lot of useful info.
Preferred method of using atiplsvh is: run it on Windows start
by copying its shortcut with parameter alone to Windows
Startup folder. Then add TV CENTER / ATI VIDEO PLAYER to the
list of user-defined applications and run it from the tray
icon menu or by hot key (Ctrl+Alt+F1...F9) or simply by its
icon (shortcut for resmngr.exe or atiplay.exe) as you did
before.
----------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION:

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are installing atiplsvh over its previous version and to
another directory, please, be sure you have deleted all files
atiplsvh.* from its previous directory. Also change shortcuts
(do not forget shortcut in Startup folder) pointing to atiplsvh
to new location.
Your settings and application are stored in file atiplsvh.ini.
If you want you can move it to new directory of atiplsvh.

If you use only ATI VIDEO PLAYER (atiplay.exe, usually located
in C:\Ati\Atidesk directory):
- unzip all files named atiplsvh.* from this package to
directory where your ATI VIDEO PLAYER resides (usually
C:\Ati\Atidesk);
- create a shortcut for atiplsvh.exe;
- replace all shortcuts for ATI VIDEO PLAYER with this new one.
From now always run ATI VIDEO PLAYER through this new shortcut.

If you use only ATI TV CENTER (resmngr.exe, usually located in
C:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\Main):
- unzip all files named atiplsvh.* from this package to
directory where file resmngr.exe resides (usually
C:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\Main);
- create a shortcut for atiplsvh.exe;
- replace all shortcuts for Television with this new one.
From now always run Television through this new shortcut.

If you use both ATI TV CENTER and ATI VIDEO PLAYER:
Choose which one of them you want to use as primary TV program
and install atiplsvh to its directory as described before.

Version 1.0.7.2 lets shutdown Windows with atiplsvh in memory.

Version 1.0.7.1 supports setting of master volume and keeps
state of 'selected' check box in recording controls.
----------------------------------------------------------------
WHY TO USE IT?

When I bought this AGP card I found that current version
of ATI player seems not to like my sound card SB PCI 64.
Volume of any sound source (wave, MIDI, CD-audio, ...) except
the one with audio output from ATI AIW attached was decreased
(not muted) to 0. Even after closing ATI VIDEO PLAYER sound
volumes were down. I always had to manually adjust the sliders.
So I wrote this little piece of software.
----------------------------------------------------------------
COMMAND-LINE SWITCHES:

-save Stores current volume of atiplsvh to atiplsvh.ini.
-load Restores sound settings from atiplsvh.ini.
-kill Unloads atiplsvh.exe from memory 5 sec after TV
CENTER / ATI VIDEO PLAYER response (without this
switch atiplsvh.exe stays in memory and is accessible
          in tray).
-noplayer With -save or -load just saves or restores sound
settings without starting TV CENTER / ATI VIDEO
    PLAYER and quits immediately.
-svr Enables screen saving and power saving mode
independently on values stored in atiplsvh.ini.
-term Quits atiplsvh after end of TV PLAYER.
-alone Does not run TV CENTER / ATI VIDEO PLAYER on it's
start -useful if run automatically on Windows start.
-f2 Hides controls of TV CENTER / ATI VIDEO PLAYER on
    it's start.
-quit Closes already running instance of atiplsvh.
