Goodbye to memorizing, typing
-----------------------------
Juggling a bunch of passwords for the Internet? A hassle
remembering which password's for what. And a hassle keying it in
correctly.

With Keychain, it's a breeze. Just double-click an associated
name, and the password's copied to the clipboard, ready for
pasting into your browser.

No install?
-----------
Not necessary. Keychain's compact and easy to use. The archive
contains:

          keychain.exe - the executable
          readme.txt - this file

Just create a folder/directory and unZip the files to it.

To run, click on keychain.exe in Explorer. Two files are
generated in this folder:

          keychain.cfg - saved preferences
          keychain.pws - saved passwords (encrypted)

The config file saves last window position and size; font size
and color. (Keychain's non-intrusive software and doesn't muck up
your Registry.)

To remove completely, just delete all the program's files.

How to use
----------
Keychain acts like a master key. It keeps up to 100 passwords
(more than enough for anyone to handle!) in a file encrypted with
an industrial-strength algorithm (reinforced "RC4"). You need
only remember one key to access this file.

Edit, add, or delete passwords. There are 2 elements to a
password:

   1) What name the password's associated with. Max 49
characters. This is listed in the window.

   2) The password itself. Max 49 characters. This is NEVER
      displayed except during editing/adding.

For example, if you use an ISP called BestNet Inc, and you need a
password to dial in, you'd logically have "BestNet Inc" for the
associated name. When you double-click this name, Keychain
arranges for the password itself - not the name - to be copied to
the clipboard, ready to paste in your dialer or browser. A bell
sounds to tell you it's done, then Keychain gets out of the way
by minimizing itself.

You can even get Keychain to generate a secure, usually
unreadable password for you.

When you exit, the passwords file's auto-updated according to
what's currently listed. The clipboard's also emptied, as it may
contain a copied password. If all items have been removed, the
passwords file will be deleted, and you start over the next time.

When minimized, Keychain's an icon in the system tray. Left-click
it to maximize, or right-click for a popup menu.

WARNING: Although not displayed, all the passwords managed
------- by Keychain are accessible by a simple double-click.
Make sure that you quit the program when you move away from your
computer.

Regularly get Keychain to backup keychain.pws, the passwords
file. If this file becomes corrupted for any reason, make a new
copy of it from keychain.bak.

Do NOT however forget your Keychain key itself, or you'd lose all
your saved passwords.
