Description
~~~~~~~~~~~
ASC lets administrators set up rules for the local computer, defining when
any program can be executed and by whom. You can control access to any
32-bit software, such as games, Internet browsers, or anything else depending
on the time of day and day of week.
Configuration is as simple as setting up login hour restrictions. Just choose
a program, define users who should be affected by the rules, and choose when
to enable and disable access on a one-week grid.
If users try to access the program outside of the allowed hours, they're given
an access-denied message.
ASC enhances access control for Windows NT users and helps to maintain a more
protected environment.
Main features of ASC :
 - Allows you to create a list of the 32-bit applications you want to control.
 - Allows you to define when a program from the list can be executed and by
   whom.
 - Allows you to deny executing programs from the removable media (such as
   floppy drive, ZIP, MO and so on) without locking access to the device.
 - Allows you to deny executing programs from the CD-ROM without locking
   access to the device.
 - Allows you to deny executing programs from the Network drive without
   locking access to the device.
 - Allows you to deny executing programs from the RAM drive without locking
   access to the device.
 - Allows you to deny executing programs from the Fixed drive (the user won't
   be execute any programs from the hard disk) without locking access to the
   device.
 - Allows you to deny executing programs from the Unknown device (if the
   system can't recognize the device type, the user won't be execute any
   programs from that device) without locking access to the device.
 - Powerful and handy interface.
 - Automatic install and uninstall.
 - Y2K Ready!
 - Windows 2000 Ready!
 - Multi-lingual interface.
Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~

IMPORTANT! If you've got ASC not from our web page, but from the other
source (magazine CD or some software library), please visit our home
page - you'll probably find the later version.

To correctly install (and uninstall) ASC you MUST have administrative
privileges.

To install ASC, just run the "asc.exe" and follow the instructions.
You'll need to select the target directory to install.

IMPORTANT! We strongly recommend you to install ASC to the NTFS partition
because it provides with protection from deleting ASC's files by users
without administrative privileges.

If you wish to install ASC without an user intervention you should launch
ASC setup with the /s parameter. The idea here is to provide an install
that can be used with a batch file.

IMPORTANT! The ASC Service MUST works under system account.

Important! Go to the http://www.protect-me.com/asc/download.html#lng may be
you will find a lingual-package for your language.

If you wish to translate ASC into your native language you should open
the file language.ini in any text editor (e.g. Notepad) and translate all
strings after an equal sign (=).

Important! Do not modify symbols like: %s %u \n

To make one of the letters in the caption of a button the mnemonic key,
precede it with an ampersand (&).

Restart ASC (service and manager for NT) and check all text messages,
buttons captions and so on.

Rename your translated language.ini to language.xxx (where the xxx is a
language identifier, e.g. eng - English).

Send language.xxx to us as an attachment to the email (use e-mail address:
asc@protect-me.com) and we will include your language to the lingual-package
for ASC.

Important! You will get the one Single license for ASC if you will send
your lingual-file (which not already enclosed in our package) to us.
