FMV-Extractor is a 32-Bit GUI utility for extracting video clips from other files,
such as games, non-interactive demos or self-playing movies.

It extracts Bink (R), Smacker (R), AVI and Interplay (R) video clips, thus covering well
over 2000 (!) different games.

It was tested on Windows95 (R), Windows98 (R), Windows NT 4.0 (R) and Windows 2000 (R).
(And it certainly won't run under any other OS. :)

USAGE
=====

The extraction is done in 6 simple steps :

1. Open a source file

Either enter the complete filename and path in the appropirate box, or
browse for it using the '...' button or the menu.

2. Choose the video types to check for

Using the appropirate checkboxes, select any combination of the supported video formats :
	- Bink (R) video
	- Smacker (R) video
	- Interplay (R) video
	- AVI video

3. Analyse the file

Hit the analyse button or use the menu command.
The box labeled 'Clips' will fill with the videoclips contained within the
	source file.
If nothing shows up after a couple of seconds, the selected source file most likely
	doesn't contain any Bink(r) clips.

4. Select the clips you want to extract

Either select them manually by clicking on the checkboxes next to the clip,
or use the 'Select All' and 'Clear All' buttons.

5. Select the target file(s)

Enter the complete path and filename (not including extension!) in the appropirate
box, or browse for it using the '...' button or the menu.
If you have selected multiple clips, a 3-digit number corresponding to the 'Clips'-
box will be inserted right before the extension.

E.g., if you had chosen the filename "c:\ff8_cd1_clip" and had selected two
clips numbered 2 and 10, the clips would be saved as
	"c:\ff8_cd1_clip002.bik' and "c:\ff8_cd1_clip010.bik" respectivly.

6. Hit the extract button and lean back.

You're done !

As FMV-Extractor is not a viewer, you will of course need a player for the videos :

	- for Bink and Smacker videos, see http://www.radgametools.com

	- for AVI videos, see http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia

	- as for Interplay (R) videos, I am sorry to say that I don't know where or
how to get one. There used to be at least two on the web, but alas, both
were removed due to copyright issues with Interplay.
IF YOU KNOW ONE, PLEASE EMAIL ME !

Have fun !
