CUSTOM STEREOGRAMS v1.1 MANUAL Copyright 1997 William O. Cain

INTRODUCTION

Custom Stereograms (abbreviated: CSG) is a program for Microsoft Windows
that allows you to create your own 3-D images. Use the editor to draw
pictures--the colors correspond to how close or far away the image appears.

Custom Stereograms is freeware! Feel free to let friends and family try
this product, as long as it includes all of the files listed in PACKLIST.TXT.

INSTRUCTIONS

You must run Windows (a trademark of Microsoft Corporation) under 256 or
more colors in order to use Custom Stereograms.

CSG.EXE is the executable program, which you may add to a Windows group and
and use with the icon, CSG.ICO. Also included are the files VBRUN300.DLL and
CMDIALOG.VBX, which should be in the same directory as CSG.EXE. CSG may be
run from DOS; it simply launches you into Windows.

Do not run CSG with lots of other Windows applications running at the same
time. This can cause a memory error, and the program will terminate--you will
lose any picture that you were working on. Of course, if you have 8MB or more
of RAM, this problem should not occur often.

Please consult the 'Help' provided with CSG for specific information
regarding saving/retrieving images and drawing.

If you need help getting started drawing, try going to the 'File' menu while
in Custom Stereograms. Click on 'Open,' then select the SAMPLE.CSG file. As
soon as it is loaded, go back to the 'File' menu and select 'Create Stereo-
gram.' Answer 'Yes' when asked if you really want to create the stereogram
now. As soon as it is finished (which takes about 4 or 5 minutes on a 486 at
25 MHz,) try getting 'into' the stereogram. What you see should correspond to
the original SAMPLE.CSG picture, only it will be in 3 dimensions!

CSG only recognizes a standard 16-color palette; if you try to load a
picture that was not created by Custom Stereograms, make sure it uses only
these 16 colors.
