DEDICATION

This Idea was inspired by a ornament which was brought as a present
for me by my son Dean.

INTRODUCTION

Tired of all those sophisticated graphics,
Want to get back to basics,
	Something simple to relax too,

A new experience in Multi-media entertainment.
A screen saver for you to sit back and view while you whyle away
those endless hours, while also listening to your favourite tunes.

I hope this production brings you a little bit of inspiration.

SYSYTEM REQUIREMENTS

This program has been developed under windows 3.11 on a 486DX2
system with 8Mbytes of RAM. As such the programme should run on other
machines of the same ilk.

A couple of windows utilities (DLLs) are called and therefore
need to be available. Being completely ignorant of the differences between
the different versions of windows I cannot say if the screen saver
will run under any other versions of windows.

Animation's have been drawn using a 256 colour palette.

A means of recording sound into .WAV files

Note:

To obtain the original colour scheme a 256 colour driver needs to
be set as the default windows video driver.

However, I have found the animation motion can be slightly degraded in this
colour mode. This will be dependent on the machines/graphics speed.

Switching to VGA mode will correct the animation's motion.
However, the colour scheme will be consequently be affected.

The program is despatched without any accompanying music
in order that copy right laws are not infringed. As far as I am aware
copying music onto your PC for your personal entertainment is not
infringing current copyright law.

Therefore please feel free to import your own songs into the empty .WAV
files provided.

This can be done using the standard windows wave editor and
a music CD inserted into the CD drive.

IMPORTING SOUND

The program can be viewed without importing sound into the .WAV
files, and although this alone will drive you into a mad frenzy,
adding music will enhance your enjoyment to even greater heights.

There are two sound slots provided in this version;

The 1st is following the fly in sequence. I believe the most
suited type of music for the animation is a slow tempo choral
tune. I built the animation around Handels Messiah a sample of
which can be found in Encarta 95.
The File name to import the music into is INTRO.WAV
The duration of the file should be

The 2nd slot is the sequence showing the band. I believe animation
requires a lively/jazzy tempo. I found something like the Hippie, Hippie
Shake Shake fitted well.
The file name to import the music into is CONCERT.WAV
The duration of the file should be 1min 49 seconds

To Import sound just start a WAV editor and record from which ever I/P
is available to you. Save the recording into the appropriate file.

You will need to create blank WAV files if you do not wish the screen
saver to play.
