Check with your local library to find out if they loan
books-on-tape. You can rent books-on-tape from some video rental
businesses and independent bookstores. There are also businesses
that specialize in renting books-on-tape.

The children's stories are out-of-print but are available from
Star Trek merchandise vendors, comic book dealers, and at
conventions. You may even find them in record store remainder
bins. Prices can range from $1.00 to $20.00, but you shouldn't
have to pay more than $5.00 since so many of these records were
pressed.

I am providing several addresses for your information. I have
ordered merchandise from Atomic Comics and American
Distribution, but not the others. Atomic Comics has a catalog of
science fiction books-on-tape and occasionally has sale prices
on selected tapes. Redding's Audiobooks specializes in sales and
rental of books-on-tape (in-store and mailorder). Starland sells
most of the Star Trek tapes on this list, has a Web site and
takes orders by electronic mail. I purchased several of the Star
Trek children's records (at $4.95 each) from American
Distribution. The Audiobook Source is a web-based business
carrying most of the Star Trek titles, all grouped together on a
separate page for convenience. Many mailorder vendors of Star
Trek merchandise and books-on-tape carry these tapes as do many
bookstores.

Prices for tapes range from $8.95 to $17.00. Prices for CDs are
higher. Shipping costs for mailorder usually range from $3.00 to
$6.00.
