TnServer Information
--------------------

TnServer is a Windows NT service that allows remote users to log on to a NT
server via a telnet session and be presented with a NT console.

Trial
-----

This trial version will only allow a single connection at a time.

TnServer is Copyright (c) 1997-1998 by R. Randall. All rights reserved.

Users are granted a limited license to use the trial version of TnServer for a
limited evaluation period of up to 45 days, in order to determine if it suits
their needs. Any other use of TnServer or use past this period requires
registration.

All users are granted a limited license to copy the trial version of TnServer
only for the purpose of allowing others to try it, subject to the above
restrictions as well as these:

    TnServer must be distributed in absolutely unmodified form, including ALL
    program, documentation, and other files.

    TnServer may not be included with any other retail application for any
    reason whatsoever without written permission from the author.

Manual.txt     - This document.
TnServer.exe   - The Windows NT Telnet Service.
TnShell.exe    - The command shell (CMD.EXE).
TnLogon.exe    - Windows NT security logon module.

Requirements
------------

Windows NT version 4.0 with service pack 3 and TCP/IP installed.

Installation
------------
 
    1) Copy the three executables into a directory of your choice on a local
       hard disk.
    2) From a NT command prompt, run "TNSERVER /INSTALL"
    3) Select "SERVICES" from the "NT Control Panel".
    4) Look for "Windows NT Telnet Server" in the list and select start. You
       can also change the startup parameters at this point.

Removing the software
---------------------

    1) From a NT command prompt, run "TNSERVER /REMOVE"
    2) Delete the three executables.
    
Testing
-------

    1) From a suitable workstation, start a telnet session. If you are using
       the telnet program that ships with Windows 95 or NT, set the terminal
       preferences as follows:
       
            1) NO terminal options must be selected.
            2) Emulation must be set to VT-100/ANSI.
            3) Buffer Size must be set to 26.
            4) Fonts must be set to Terminal, Regular, 9.
            
Security
--------

TnServer uses standard NT security. The user must have a local account on the 
server being connected to.
