04 October 2001

04 October 2001 - Version 1.3.1.1 released.
* Bug fixed:
o Fixed error in uninstaller. On removing Mail Snoop the uninstaller was deleting the auto start registry settings for other programs as well as the Mail Snoop setting. This is now corrected.
20 September 2001 - Version 1.3.1.0 released.
* New Features:
o "Add to Blacklist" on toolbar and Messages menu. Adds the senders email address from the selected email to the start of the blacklist. If the Blacklist filter function is in use, subsequent emails from the sender will be deleted or queried.
o "Always query when adding sender to blacklist" option on Messages page of Mail Snoop Options. If checked then use of the "Add to Blacklist" function will always be queried.
o Activity log information now includes the email size as part of each entry.
* Bugs fixed:
o Blocked deletion of emails by the blacklist filter when an email has no "From address" (i.e. the field is either blank or does not contain a valid email address.
* Miscellaneous:
o Updated Core Libraries handling Pop3 server communication & Dial up networking.

15 June 2001 - Version 1.3.0.0 released.
* New Features:
o New function added to Connection Options. Never dial (only check for mail if connected) If Mail Snoop connects via a modem and this option is set, then a mail check will only take place if the modem is online.
o Revised operation of Message Notification dialog box as follows:
* New setting added to General Options page, "Place the message topmost" if selected then the Notification message would appear as the topmost window on the monitor. This new setting is selected by default.
* The Message Notification dialog box now appears as a single instance only. If for example if dialog box is activated as a result of new mail but then left on screen, should further new mail arrive then the dialog box is updated to include the new items. Previously an additional dialog box would be created each time mail arrived.
* Bugs Fixed:
o Mail Snoop now locates filter & data files correctly when installed on a PC that has more than one user.
o New mail notification flashing tray icon, the icon will continue to flash until the Main Display Window is shown - animation is no longer stopped by a further mail check.
o Fixed RAS detection bug, Mail Snoop now correctly detects PC's that do not have Remote Access Service (RAS) installed and will block attempts to configure or use Dial Up Networking.
* Miscellaneous:
o Updated installer to new version.

29 December 2000 - Version 1.2.1.0 released.
* Maintenance revision, removed unwanted checkbox that somehow crept onto the Amend Mailbox dialog page.

16 December 2000 - Version 1.2.0.0 released.
* New Command added to Mailbox Menu/Toolbar. New Mailbox Wizard lets you configure easily a new mailbox entry for Mail Snoop to monitor. New Mailbox Wizard starts automatically the first time Mail Snoop is run after installation, it can also be run each time you set-up a new Mail account.
* New Menu Item on Mailbox Menu, (Always filter this Mailbox). Enables/disables filter checking for the selected Mailbox, if enabled a checkbox is shown against the menu entry. This provides a quick way of enabling filter checking on a selected mailbox, rather than using the Set-up Mailbox function.
* New log file option added to record details of spam mail received but not deleted by Mail Snoop. This provides an alternative to logging all new mail entries.
* Bugs fixed:
o Altered screen refresh during Mail Checks. Main window will now refresh during a mail check, reducing the cases of a blank or partial frame being shown.
o Altered behaviour of the New Mail Alert flashing icon. This now always continues to flash if new mail is detected and if the main window is minimized. Previously this didn't always happen.

18 November 2000 - Version 1.0.1.0 released.
* New command added to Mailbox popup menu, (Clear All Entries & Re-check) Mail Snoop clears its email list for the selected mailbox, and then it performs a mail check on the selected mailbox. Use this to rerun a filter check on a Mailbox.
* New option added to Blacklist filter, (Always Query the item if only the domain name matches a Blacklist entry) if checked then Mail Snoop will always query items where it matches the domain name against a Blacklist entry. This prevents accidental deletions if Spam mail is sent to you from domain that also has legitimate users.
* Bugs fixed:
o Mail check progress bar no longer stays topmost. If displayed on top of an applications window, clicking the applications window will remove the progress bar.
o Log file now updates during a start-up mail check.
o Contains Word filter setting now checks correctly for a complete word in a Subject, Sender or Header field. In V1.0.0.0 this check would sometimes fail, for example a filter for the word 'ad' would detect this word; however in some circumstances it would also falsely detect 'read' or any word ending in 'ad'. This is now fixed.
o Corrected problem where a new or modified filter entry is not saved if Mail Snoop is immediately shutdown after making the amendment. All amendments are now saved immediately.

20 September 2000 - Version 1.0.0.0 released.
