DISCRIPTION and USE:
Repellent disables VB Script, Java Script, Registry files, and Applets in the Registry and in the Internet Setting. Renames the files that the script need to run. This ensures that an asp page cannot enable scripting. The best why to kill a virus or worm is to prevent getting it, Repellent prevents.

This software is designed for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer, Outlook, and Outlook Express. It will also work on other browsers and email programs that are SKINS or use the Microsoft componets and configuration, such as AOL and many others.

When you start Repel.exe click on the Options label to setup Repellent.

Click on the Repell label and you can read your email without fear of getting a virus like "I LOVE YOU"

If you use a registry cleaner such as Perfect Companion. You need to enable Repellent before using the registry cleaner.

If you check the check box "Disable Java Script" then all Java will be disabled.

ERROR MESSAGES:
You must have VB5 runtime files on your system. If you get an error when first starting Repel.exe then you do not have the latest versions or your do not have VB5 files on your system. You can download them from http://www.easydesksoftware.com/down.htm

If you receive a message that Java Script or Java Applets could no be completely disable: this means that a file is in use and could not be disabled. Repellent has disable Windows from running a the Script or Applet, however disabling the file ensures that a no one can re-enable The Script or Applet. These files once loaded into memory stay in use for the duration of the Windows session. Repellent also deletes the key files to ensure that a program does not attempt to re-enable Java or VB Script. These files are restored when you click Restore.

 To disable the file mentioned, reboot and start Repellent before starting another program. If you still get the message, a program in your startup group is using the file. You will need to disable your startup group first.


UNINSTALL:
Restore with Repellent
Delete the file Repel.exe
If you wish you may also delete the Registry Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Easy Desk\Repellent
Not deleting the Key will have no ill effect
