The Norton AntiVirus 3.0

Command Line Switches

The Norton AntiVirus protection package consists of two parts, the Scanner
and the Auto-Protect. The Scanner is invoked from the command NAV.EXE.
The Scanner finds and removes viruses from disk files and disk system areas,
and is usually invoked from the command line, or from the autoexec.bat file.

The Auto-Protect portion of The Norton AntiVirus protects your system from
viruses that attempt to load into your system. It is invoked from the
command line NAVTSR.EXE, and usually loads into memory from the config.sys
file.

NAV.EXE and NAVTSR.EXE allows the use of several command line switches that
enhance flexibility. Using a command-line switch, you can easily launch
Norton AntiVirus and tell it to scan a drive, directory or file using
specific option's settings all in one step. You can also use command-line
switches to manage the automatic protection for DOS portion of Norton
AntiVirus.
