                         I. Creating A New Name
=============================================================================

 From the Main Menu, scroll down, highlight and select 'Create New Name'.
 You are able to choose from the White/Gold and Gold/Graphics sets. They
 can be described as follows:

 White/Gold - All white and gold(brown) characters are included. No
              graphical characters. This set is CASE sensitive.
              WHITE - lower case
              GOLD  - upper case

 Gold/Graphics - All gold(brown) characters and graphical characters.
                 No white characters. This set is also CASE sensitive.
                 GRAPHICS - lower case
                 GOLD     - upper case

 You are now prompted to enter your Quake name. This name CANNOT be over
 15 characters long, names longer than 15 characters will only be read
 and displayed in Quake up to 15 characters. Any extra letters will not
 be shown. Hit ENTER to process your name. A string of characters will
 appear such as:

 This is the encoded text:

 This is the name 'ChadSmith' converted to Quake characters.

                        II.    Saving A File
=============================================================================

  After creating your Quake name, you are prompted to:

  Save File? [Y/N]:

  Press 'Y' to save your file as whatever you want, up to 8 characters.
  Press 'N' to save your file in the dump file as NAME.SCR

  When saving your Quake name, keep in mind that QNC supports the standard
  DOS 8 characters. You do NOT add the file extension!!

  EX. MYQNAME1

                       III.  Using Quake Names
=============================================================================

  After creating your name, simply start up Quake (making sure all names are
  in the \QUAKE\ID1 directory. This should have been put in as your path.
  From within Quake itself, bring down the console screen,
  with the tilde '~' key, and type EXEC EXAMPLE.SCR

  Replace EXAMPLE.SCR with whatever filename you have saved your Quake
  Name under. That's it!

                       IV .      QNC Info
=============================================================================

  QNC was created to make it easier for everyone when making names in
  Quake.

  QNC was created with Turbo Pascal 7.0 DOS. The latest version is always
  available at the Official Homepage:

  http://home.cybertron.com/~chads/qnc

  QNC was made in DOS format for a few simple reasons: For when in a DOS
  environment, systems with DOS as its OS, and well, it was made with
  TP 7.0 ;) Not to mention, Quake being a DOS based game.
