[1] INTRODUCTION
QUAKE ED is a savegame editing tool for Quake savegames.
It was written by DOMI ARTS and hacked violence.

[1.1] GENERAL INFORMATION
QUAKE ED is freeware. That means you may freely copy it, but you musn't
distribute it without the author's agreement.
You are not allowed to charge anything for copying this tool.
QUAKE ED may be distributed on any CD-ROM with the author's agreement.
Please report any offense against these points.

[1.2] SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
If Quake runs on your machine, QUAKE ED will do also.
We recommend running QUAKE ED under DOS.

[2] INSTALLING
Unzip the archive anywhere on your harddrive. We recommend
creating a special directory to keep your harddisk tidy.
To check if no files are missing, compare the contents of your
directory with the file FILES.TXT.

[2.1] HANDLING
Simply copy the savegame you want to edit in the directory where
QUAKE ED is located. We recommend NOT to put QUAKE ED in
the savegame directory of QUAKE, because this way you have
backups of your savegames if QUAKE ED fails. Then start QUAKE ED
and select the savegame you want to edit. The menu should be
self-explaining. After editing, save your modified savegame, copy
it in the savegame directory of QUAKE and you are ready to go.

[2.2] EDITING HINTS
QUAKE ED sometimes corrects the value of some stuff, because it may not
exceed a certain value. This is NOT a bug.
If you play a savegame were you have set the health higher than ca. 32768,
you will have the experience to be a zombie:
You are dead, but you can still wander around.

[3] SCREEN SHOTS
We have included a collection of some very cool screen shots for you!
They are stored in the JPEG format in the zip archive SCRSHOTS.ZIP.

[4] BUG REPORT
We have tested QUAKE ED only with the shareware version of QUAKE.
Note: Although some things are not available in the shareware version,
you can get this stuff with QUAKE ED, but this may cause frame errors
on some systems. If you encounter any bug, please use the BUG REPORT
form in the file REPORT.BUG and mail it back to us. (see also [4.1])

[5.1] NOTES
We do not worship Satan (do we ?)
We want to believe.
And we trust no one.
And in our opinion, the truth is out there, but so are the lies.
If it's ice tea, it could be love.
If it's root-beer, it is fate.
And, before we forget, may the force be with you! Always!
And last but not least: We DO NOT like Microsoft products.
