Description : Bazooka Babe demo level
Thanks to : Chris & Trey for releasing Quest source - Whoopee!
: Bubbah for an outrageously cool signature model!
: Dr. Benway for bringing me some orange juice this
morning as I lay pathetically immobile, whining about
a sore throat and a headache and a stuffed nose.

* Installation *

Installation of this level is a bit different because there's more than
just a BSP file - there are new monster MDL files and a replacement
PROGS.DAT to run them. Not to worry! All you need to do is:

1. Put bazooka.zip into the directory where your QUAKE.EXE is
2. pkunzip -d bazooka
3. quake -game bazooka +map bazooka

That's it! Replacements for step 3 include:

quake -game bazooka +skill 0 +map bazooka <--- easy single player
quake -game bazooka +skill 2 +map bazooka <--- hard single player
quake -game bazooka +deathmatch 1 +map bazooka <--- explore in deathmatch mode

Bazooka.zip contains the complete distributable form of Bubbah's Bazooka
Babe model for use by level authors who want to add new monsters to their
levels. See bazooka.txt and Bubbah's page for more information on
recompiling monster .qc files into a progs.dat that contains the AI for
all of the monsters that you're using.

* Other Info *

I tried to keep this level as simple as possible, but I also wanted to
try to demo the Babe's features, including all the animation sequences,
sounds, and models (hence the grenade launcher, so if you're good,
you may even get flying head from the Bazooka Babe). She gives some
warning before firing - when the bazooka dips, it's time to move!
The end of the level behaves a little differently depending on whether
you're running skill 1 or skill 2, so try 'em both. Of course, also use
NOTARGET, GOD, and/or IMPULSE 9 to do any tests you want to do.

Ms. Bazooka is pretty deadly. A direct hit can do about twice the damage
of an ogre's grenade, so players who flub an encounter with one are going
to have a desperate look in their eyes. Fortunately, she drops a
2-rocket backpack, and since it takes just over two rockets (or about
17 nails) to put one out of commission, the ammo expended/ammo return
ratio is better than that of an ogre. A super nailgun will take the Babe
out very quickly, but I'd still try to insure that players have a fair
amount of armor before throwing some Bazooka Babes at them. The Babe seems
to fit into the Quake menagerie nicely, but I'm sorry that I didn't
add a canopy bed somewhere in this map. I hope someone does a good
"Bazooka Bordello" level soon!

For you modem deathmatchers, this map should also work well as a 2-player
deathmatch level. A couple of teleporters and a door triggered by someone
grabbing the grenade launcher give the level a ring topology. One drawback
is that there is no exit in DM mode. You can jump onto the center platform
in the lava room without waiting for the moving platform to circle around.
I had a good time with some Reaper Bots in it.

Go make some Babe levels! - gyro
