  Description of the Modification

turns off all the lights in the level and gives the player a
torch with which to see!

  How to use Modification  
ͼ
run the game thusly:
  quake -game torch
(substitute your dir name for torch)
then typing:
  impulse 100
into the console toggles the torch on and off.
but if you bind that command to a key that key will have the same effect:
  bind t "impulse 100"
will make the T key toggle your torch.

  How to Install the Modification

unzip the file into a dir in quake (say C:\GAMES\QUAKE\TORCH)

  Technical Details

makes a small entity which floats in front of the player and projects
a medium amount of light, the entity is stopped by walls and monsters,
the torch works in deathmatch and is only on when you are alive.
