Welcome to rq2proxy 2.0
-----------------------

This is a new version of rq2proxy, featuring:

-> Many-to-many proxying: multiple players can play on multiple servers
                          through a single proxy.
-> Programmable delays: choose your own ping.
-> Per-origin routing: different people can be routed to different
servers based on their IP address and port.
-> Works with xqf and gamespy (and the QII address book): I mention this
                            only because v1 didn't....

The user guide is in docs/using.{ps,pdf} and docs/using/index.html, and
explains how to set up a proxy and the format of the configuration file.

Installation now uses autoconf - see the generic instructions in
INSTALL for details.

Bug reports, feature requests, odd bits of mail, etc. are all welcome
at Richard.Watts@cl.cam.ac.uk.

 rq2proxy is (c) Richard Watts <Richard.Watts@cl.cam.ac.uk> 1998, and
is licenced under either the terms of the GNU Library General Public
Licence, version 2 (LGPL-2.txt) or Larry Wall's Artistic Licence
(Artistic.txt). The latest version is always available from
http://epona.ucam.org/rrw/qproxy.html .

Note that the files config.sub and config.guess are part of
GNU autoconf.

The previous version, version 1, is in the version1/ directory: it
may be easier to play with, though it shares no code with this version.

There is now a mailing list for rq2proxy discussion and
announcements. To subscribe, send a human-readable message to
rrw1000@cl.cam.ac.uk with `subscribe rq2proxy' in the subject line.

 Have fun :-),

Richard.

(now all I have to do is learn to play ...)
